Old Red Lion

We absolutely loved Old Red Lion House. It's so comfortable and well equipped that it's like staying with friends with a lovely house. Location is quirky and lovely- tucked down a yard off the pretty Blandford Forum market square. We loved being so conveniently located (highly recommend the butchers in the square for delicious treats). The house is thoughtfully and tastefully decorated, comfy sofas, lovely woodburner, well equipped kitchen, lots of space for everyone to relax. Beds and bedding were comfortable and showers good and hot! So all boxes ticked! We hope to return!

The space & layout of the house was absolutely brilliant for our extended family & you have done everything with such thought & to a high quality. You had everything we needed. Thank you so much for all the little touches like the welcome bottle of Prosecco & tea bags! We really appreciated them. We loved sitting around the cosy kitchen table at meal times & watching a film in the evenings in the wonderful lounge area. Your information folder was very helpful and we referred to it a lot. We really enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable stay in a unique cottage. Excellent location for sightseeing and local amenities. Lovely soft furnishings and super communication from owner. Highly recommend.

We had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely home, which is full of books and toys and very well presented. It's wonderfully child friendly, and the owners answered every query (eg with helpful tips about the best, quietest beaches to visit) very quickly. The neighbours were also friendly and we had a sense of a nice community. Thank you for a very pleasant holiday.

We had a great stay at the Old Red Lion over the new year break. The house is beautifully decorated and provides a lovely relaxed base for exploring Dorset. There's plenty of attention to detail, the kitchen is well equipped and everything was in working order. Hilary is an excellent host. We particularly enjoyed trips to the nearby coast for bracing walks, returning to enjoy a cosy evening by the log fire.
