Perhaps it’s the gentle, unstuffy attitude of Kate and Edward. Or the great position of the house with its glorious views across the Slad valley. Whichever, you’ll feel comforted and invigorated by your stay. It’s a real family home and you get both a fresh, pretty bedroom that feels very private and the use of a comfy, book-filled sitting room opening to a flowery courtyard; Kate is an inspired garden designer. Sleep soundly on the softest of pillows, wake to deep countryside peace and the delicious prospect of eggs from their own hens and good bacon. Friendly dogs Jaffa and Dot add to the charm, the area teems with great walks – lovely pubs too.
