The Experience

Step into a light, bright sitting room – lovely in winter to light the cosy wood-burner and settle on the sofa with a good book, or dig into the welcome hamper – fresh bread, local eggs, apple juice and cider, crisps and biscuits. The kitchen is very well kitted out with decent wine glasses and sharp knives, plenty of space for prepping and a good range of cookware. Eat inside or outdoors on balmy days.

The bed is the star of the show – a super king which can also be twins, and swathed in crisp linen with the softest pillows and duvet. The feel is very private and there are lovely views from the windows. A sparkling en suite has a generous walk-in shower, perfect for easing walk-weary limbs.

You have your own paved terrace with a hedge screen which faces the evening sun for relaxed sundowners. Beyond is miles of countryside trilling with birds for restorative walks and total peace.

Reviews

If you’re looking for a secluded getaway in beautiful Herefordshire then look no further. The Bothy is so well thought out that you barely need to pack at all and the bed is so comfortable you may never leave it. Surrounded by a beautiful garden, your westerly terrace is the perfect place to sip a local cider. Ledbury, Ludlow and Malvern are within easy reach, as are the glorious Malvern Hills.

Location

The neighbourhood

The area is known as the Leadon Valley, after the river, and has dark skies and total tranquillity apart from the odd tractor or activity at harvest time. You'll find some amazing walks in the Malvern Hills, plus The Woodshed café for refreshments. Ross-on-Wye is 35 minutes for canoeing down the Wye, and from Ledbury you can get a train to Paddington.
