The
Experience

This is the real Deal! A wonderfully unspoilt place for a bucket-and-spade holiday, and terrific value too. Three steps lead down to a beautiful and brightly decorated apartment on the ground floor of a Victorian seafront home with its own private entrance. The friendly owners and their young family are on hand should you need anything. Molly has an eye for interior design and has pulled off a bright seaside feel without recourse to obvious nautical tat. Neutral pebbly colours, white louvred window shutters, original fireplaces and cornicing are easy on the eye, a courtyard back garden is yours and there’s a particularly useful lock-up for stowing all that beach paraphernalia – wetsuits, surfboards and the like. Best of all, it’s a hop, skip and a jump across the road to the shingly beach while a stroll along the prom leads to some endearingly British attractions – pier, pubs, bandstand. Should you yearn occasionally for moules frites and a glass of chablis, you can always nip along the coast to Dover and take a day trip to France. Just don’t forget the passports.

Reviews

Absolutely beautiful place to stay for our 3 weeks. We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts and the apartment had a lovely homely feel to it. Beautifully decorated and stocked with every item you could ever need in the kitchen, plus board games, and even inflatables for the beach. We entertained a few times in the lovely sunny courtyard which has a lot bigger feel to it than in the photos.... The apartment was an absolutely lovely place to stay and we really can't rate it high enough. It was excellent. We hope to return when we visit my parents again. Thanks again Molly.

Large, clean, comfortable & spacious. This apartment had everything we wanted and needed. The beds were very comfy which isn't always the case at holiday homes, the bedrooms are huge and bright. The kitchen was well equipped and there is a small sun trap patio outside. The whole apartment is tastefully decorated and you can lie in bed at night and hear the sea from the front bedrooms. The main shops are a flat 10 minute walk away either along the seafront or winding through the old lanes. Parking is on street but we found a space without any difficulty. We would highly recommend this apartment

One of the best places we’ve ever booked for a holiday..Bedrooms are really spacious with luxurious bedding and towels. The accommodation was perfect for three couples...The apartment is beautifully equipped with just about everything you need - including things for the beach, dvds, music, games and for cooking. But one of the loveliest things was to have everything we needed essentially on the doorstep -the beach across the road, pubs within 5 minutes, and a 10/15 minute walk into town. We absolutely fell in love with Deal. Molly was a lovely host ...We will definitely be back.

We had a great stay at Molly's place. The flat has an excellent location on the sea front, a brisk 5-10 minute stroll along from the pier. We found parking outside on the street easy and plentiful. The flat itself is warm, light and spacious, with great facilities and a really well equipped kitchen. Beds are comfortable. There is a small enclosed patio area with a table, chairs and a BBQ... Molly and Angus are friendly, helpful and responsive... All in all, it feels like a special place to stay, and Deal is a lovely town. Recommended without hesitation and we hope to return one day.

Holidaying with babies is no easy feat but this apartment is so well equipped for young children. The high chairs, travel cots and bouncy chairs were all set up ready for our arrival. The kitchen is equipped with kids plates, cups and cutlery and there is a cupboard full of books, toys and DVDs for little ones which kept mine entertained and happy. Parking was easily available directly outside the apartment, and the location is fantastic - right on the seafront and a short stroll on the front to the town. We will definitely be back! Thanks so much Molly for being a fantastic host.

What can we say but excellent! We have family links with Deal but this is the first time we stayed at 49. Accommodation super clean and tidy. Molly and Angus so helpful and readily accessible when we had any queries. Wine and box of chocs. awaited us on arrival as well a a lovely 'nest of freshly produced eggs'. How friendly and homely. Great place to stay. We would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Local points of interest from Molly Bradley

  • Deal's beach has been ranked number one in the Telegraph's "ten top spots to lay your beach towel". We couldn't agree more and its right outside!
  • Great fishing, and if you're not lucky the local fish and chip shop will deliver straight to the beach!
  • Deal's Saturday Market has a lovely mix of fresh local produce, antiques, flowers, gifts and a wide range of delicious food stalls to try and choose between, it even boasts its own al fresco wine bar.
  • Deal has won 'High Street of the Year', and hosts an abundance of cafes, bars and and restaurants as well as masses of lovely independent shops all within walking distance.
  • A number of English heritage sites nearby, including two 16th Century castles just a sea side stroll away.
  • 3.5 Miles to the 2011 British Golf Open course at Royal St Georges.
