The Experience

Indoors is spacious yet homely: a cheery wood-burner in the sitting room, a snug, a separate games room, and a kitchen for living in as well as cooking – a large central island makes prepping together a joy, there are windows on all sides and French windows to the courtyard for al fresco meals; on chillier days you eat at the mahogany dining table. Two staircases, one from the snug, the other from the dining room, lead up to inviting bedrooms with well-dressed beds, fabulous views and gleaming bathrooms.

On fine days you’ll be having a barbecue under the pergola, playing games on the lawn (children will find a football pitch and games room too), enjoying much peace and quiet among the birdsong – you’re close to Woodhall Spa Nature Reserve so birdwatchers will be very happy.

Explore Woodhall Spa with its Edwardian character, pick up the tastiest local food, set off on rewarding strides through the Lincolnshire Wolds, return for a bath under the stars.

We think you'll love

  • Cooking in the kitchen with everybody joining in (or escaping elsewhere) – there's so much room in the house you'll never feel crowded
  • Letting children and dogs run freely and play games in the garden with no worries about cars
  • Exploring, walking, eating wonderful local food – Lincolnshire has a fine reputation for farming and food production

Location

The neighbourhood

You're down a farm lane close to the Lincolnshire Wolds and Fens – the countryside is glorious and walks (and cycles) will be sublime. It's just over a mile to the charming 'village' of Woodhall Spa, packed with 1920s charm and independent shops, restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. Visit the Kinema in the Woods, the open-air pool in Jubilee Park, or catch a train to Lincoln from Metheringham.
