The Experience

Arriving at this elegant Victorian home surrounded by immaculate lawn, woodland, paddocks and a swing hanging from a huge conifer, you immediately want to explore. Emma and Rae are easy-going, and want you to unwind and feel at home. Bedrooms are spacious and smart with floral fabrics, deep pocket sprung mattresses and good linen; bathrooms are tip-top. Breakfast is a delicious spread: free-range eggs from next door, local bacon and sausages, freshly squeezed apple juice from the orchard. Admire the rose garden, enjoy a game of tennis, head out into the Surrey Hills. Return to a snug sitting room with TV and lots of books. Bliss.

Blackbrook house is a beautiful bed and breakfast, run by Emma and Ray who are really helpful and lovely as well. The breakfasts were really nice, and the bedrooms were excellent, everything was so clean! Gardens and grounds are beautiful in. We can highly recommend Emma and Ray’s B&B.

Diane, London

Beautiful house and gardens. Emma is a lovely welcoming lady. All our needs were catered for and even fresh roses in our room. Delicious breakfast. Would definitely recommend a stay here.

Jane, Farnham

We had an excellent week's stay in the Jane Austin suite in their beautiful house. Emma is a traditional Sawday's host making us feel so welcome and providing us with delightful breakfasts, including fresh fruit every day, served in the elegant dining room. The bedroom has glorious views of the lovely large garden and countryside beyond and the bathroom is very luxurious. It was lovely being able to return to our own sitting room before going out to one of the many local pubs/restaurants recommended by Emma, serving delicious food. A really enjoyable stay.

Malcolm & Jacky, Dolton, Devon

We have just returned from a wonderful one night stay in the Jane Austen suite. Blackbrook House is warm, relaxing and tranquil. A beautiful country house that merits a visit to truly appreciate everything described in the Sawday’s profile. Emma is the perfect host and breakfast quite breathtaking. We intend to return.
