The Experience
Walk in to wonky walls, low ceilings, old beams, huge slabs of slate floors and a magnificent stone fireplace adorned with hops – a reassuring inn. The bar area has a few high tables for casual drinking and eating, and the dining room has lovely cushioned pew benches, old photographs flickering in candlelight and a wood-burning stove to keep things cosy.
You’ll eat well: beef comes from just over the fence on the Titsey Estate, lamb from down the road and you’ll find fine food on the modern British menu – some pub classics too. Ales come from Titsey Brewing Company and other established favourites. The Coffee Shed (weekends only) is a grand spot for freshly baked cakes and good coffee.
Sleep peacefully in one of four dog-friendly bedrooms on the first floor – tip-top hotel beds, quirky metal racks for hanging clothes, sparkling bathrooms with Bath House soaps. Set off on the North Downs for stunning walks.

Walkers will be very happy, so close to the North Downs and the Pilgrim's Way. Explore the Titsey Estate with its historic house and gardens, or the pretty little St Agatha's church in Woldingham with its 750-year-old yew tree. Cyclists can plan pit stops along the lanes. Visit the Titsey brewery, enjoy great valley views from the garden.
