Rambling old coaching inn smack on Dorking's High Street, brought back to life with style and panache by Heartwood Inns in 2024. It may have 56 rooms, all very cosy and smart, but the atmosphere is very relaxed and informal throughout the beamed bar and comfortable dining areas. Dogs and kids are well looked after. Take the train to London or head for Box Hill for superb walking.
