The Experience
This 16th-century barn has been renovated with flair by creative hosts. They live in the farmhouse, and the barn is all yours. The living space is open-plan with masses of beautiful beams, sofas by the wood-burner, dining area and well-equipped kitchen. Bedrooms (one down, one mezzanine) are inviting with more honey-coloured wood, natural tones, well-dressed beds and pots of flowers; the double has a striking freestanding bath in the room. Clarissa provides all you need for breakfast – rustle it up when you want. Easy for Goodwood events, Chichester, Arundel; walk the South Downs Way, browse antique shops, spend a day on the beach.

Lost for words! An amazing place to stay with every possible consideration for a luxurious and relaxing stay. The barn is like nowhere else we’ve stayed before with an amazing double free standing bath, comfy sofas and the warmth from the beautiful log burner. Simply, there was no reason to venture out if you don’t want to! A beautiful breakfast hamper and a delivery of fresh croissants each morning and a visit from the resident Golden Retriever for a tummy rub, what more could you want. So peaceful, surrounded by nature at its best. Clarissa and John are the perfect hosts. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fabulous barn in the most beautiful location. Packed with interesting features, all with unique stories behind them. Fridge stacked with breakfast goodies so we could relax and unwind straight away. The barn is a 10 minute drive away from Petworth; lovely town with lots of good pub choices and antique shops. Everything we could possibly have wanted for perfect weekend break in the country. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We had a wonderful stay in this beautifully converted barn in such a pretty and peaceful spot. The interiors are very stylishly done with lots of thoughtful touches. I particularly enjoyed the amazing bath, cosy fire and beautiful big windows which make the barn lovely and light. There is fantastic walking on the door step. We will be back!

What a stunning, special place. The photos of the barn are beautiful, but the barn in real life exceeded our expectations. Clarissa and John are such generous hosts. The kitchen was stocked with delicious things for breakfast. John is a master builder and it shows. Clarissa has a stylish eye which makes the barn feel very chic and homely. We loved our peaceful stay after a busy Christmas. We would definitely return and could not recommend the barn more. Thank you John & Clarissa.
