What a Wonderful stay we have had with Stephanie and Adrian at Winterton …. The best hosts, fabulous B and B in the most gorgeous location. Absolutely delicious food as well. Thank you. We have LOVED our time there. X x We have done a lot of driving and enjoyed every mile!

Winterton is a gem of a place. We had the Barra room, which was lovely and comfortable - great bedding, towels and bathroom products (Highland Soap Co). The breakfasts and dinners were incredible, cooked with love and care by Stephanie and served in the guest lounge/conservatory with spectacular views over Kilmartin Glen. Adrian gives excellent suggestions for exploring the local area. We enjoyed beach walks and swimming off the tidal islands, visiting Duntrune Castle gardens and watching the yachts sailing up the Crinan Canal. Still lots more to explore on our next visit - we will be back!

Some places just get it right! I booked Winterton because it looked our sort of place then worried how it would tie in. WELL I AM GLAD I DID! Really can't fault it: Rooms comfortable, quality breakfasts, also the one dinner that we opted to have deliciously cooked by Stephanie. Lovely quiet situation above a gorgeous beach. Adrian couldn't have been more helpful getting a map out each morning and giving great suggestions of places to go. We had not realised what a unique and historical area this 'Cradle of Scotland' is. There is a lot to see. We thoroughly recommend Winterton

A 5 Star B&B with the coziest bed rooms, towels to sink into, rooms with a view, highland surroundings full of history and hosts with a golden heart. This is the perfect place for a honeymoon. Much has been written about Scotland, its history, its natural beauty… However, being immersed in it in Winterton, made alive by Stephanie and Adrian, is a different experience all together. Their love is so contagious... falling in love is the only option. Their hospitality, most delicious food and lovely original architecture creates the framework that makes this all possible.

My husband and I stayed here for a chunk of our honeymoon, and were blown away by Winterton. The location is breathtaking (whatever the weather), with a plethora of activities on the doorstep. We stayed in the ‘Jura’ room which was light, spacious and well decorated. The view from the bathroom (which has the most delectable bath) is glorious! Stephanie and Adrian are fabulous hosts and cooks! We would highly recommend having dinner at Winterton - their passion, thoughtfulness and attention to detail is unparalleled. We cannot wait to come back!

This is a very very special place. That very unusual combination of a fabulous location minutes from a stunning beach, combined with super stylish accommodation, really excellent food and the brilliant briefing sessions with hosts Adrian and Stephanie. Their advice and tips for great walks, boat trips and cafes for lovely lunches framed our whole week. It was a very memorable trip and we will certainly be back.

This is a treat of a place! It’s just special! The ambience , the expansive views , the food , the stylish decor, art, furnishings , ultra comfortable beds and bedrooms, swanky bathrooms. Everything is thoughtfully done. Stephanie is a great cook and we ate in all 3 nights and enjoyed really delicious dinners and breakfasts. Adrian is incredibly helpful with suggestions for wonderful walks and where to go. They are great hosts. Like I say the type of place to go to “treat yourselves”!!

Where do I start...this is an exceptional place to stay with the warmest of welcomes from Adrian and Stephanie that match the warmth and gentle ambience of the accommodation. Inside Winterton is tasteful and elegant but also provides expansive views onto beautiful Kilmartin Glen. Breakfasts are gorgeous and we chose to sample Stephanie's evening meals too - her passion for providing delicious food is clear and we were just delighted by every morsel. The massages are also excellent and work out very well after a good walk and before dinner!

I had a delightful stay at Winterton. Everything has clearly been very well thought out by Stephanie and Adrian who have created a very special place to stay in Argyll.

A perfect stay in every way. Beautiful spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and large ensuite bathrooms. Lots of windows and light. The location was stunning - one of the prettiest places we’ve ever visited. Stephanie and Adrian offer outstanding hospitality. Their attention to details is remarkable. Breakfasts were among the best we’ve had. If you will be in the area and they have availability, thank your lucky stars and book quickly! There is so much to do in the area, and Adrian can advise you on all of it.

Superb in the extreme, both the degree of professionalism combined with friendliness, efficiency, an aesthetic we loved, the situation, passion for the remarkable location in terms of history and nature, attention to every detail, excellent cuisine of the highest standard. Everything. Tips for other travellers Any advice Adrian and Stephanie offer should be listened to - thanks to their advice, we took two of the most memorable walks of our lives.

We were made to feel very welcome and would rate this accommodation as one of the best Sawday’s we have been to. We really do hope to return in the future. Stephanie is a brilliant cook and Adrian a wealth of knowledge about the area. All in all ‘perfect hosts’

Stephanie and Adrian are excellent hosts. The five course breakfast was the best we ever had. Also the dinners were very good. It is a good base to walk from in this beautiful and quiet area. Adrian knows very well where to go and the best spots to visit in this magnificent part of Scotland. We thank Stephanie & Adrian for the good times we had at Winterton B&B.

Adrian and Stephanie were the perfect hosts, they seem to be the perfect team, Stephanie cooking and Adrian advising on the area and places to visit. Stephanie cooked breakfast which was as good as the view - breathtaking, and we were also fortunate enough to enjoy two evening meals which were outstanding. The quality of our room mattress, bedding, towels, shower facilities etc were all first class and tastefully presented. We highly recommend a visit to Winterton. Better value for money would be difficult to find. We would give them a 10 out of 10!! We will definitely be back

We had the most lovely time. We stayed for three nights and our hosts, Adrian and Stephanie were an absolute delight. Their setting is an oasis of tranquility and calm. Stunning views abound. There is lots to explore and our hosts gave us lots of ideas and local insights. Our bedroom was beautiful and tastefully laid out. The living room is cosy and welcoming. They have local art on their walls which we thought a lovely touch. The food Adrian and Stephanie prepares is truly outstanding. The breakfast was top class, and they made a lovely evening meal on our first night. We will be back!

We were embraced by Stephanie's and Adrians geniality! A true hidden secret and recommendation! Plus 5 stars for the whole area and it's history, the house and rooms, Stephanie's cookeries... Everything was fantastic down to the smallest detail. We spent the most wonderful time with them and wished we could have stayed longer! Don't miss it! ;)

Winterton is a truly special place, comfortable, relaxed and cosy with lovely modern bedrooms. Stephanie and Adrian are wonderful hosts and couldn't be more helpful. The locally sourced breakfasts are delicious and Adrian is more than happy to pass on his knowledge of the local area, it's history and walks. We would recommend Winterton unreservedly and intend to visit again ourselves when time allows
