The Experience

This chic, understated B&B is next to a leafy park in a quiet part of Bordeaux. Gildas lives on site and is genuinely friendly; he’ll tell you all about the house and area and give you a bottle of his family’s red or white wine to try – you can visit their vineyard too.

Breakfast is à la carte and includes fruit, cheese, avocado toast, organic yogurt and granola, plus eggs however you like them and pastries, bread and jams. Stay in and relax in the sitting area in your room, the plant-filled conservatory or the ground-floor living area which has a bar and courtyard garden.

You’re minutes from dozens of good restaurants and the trendy Chartrons quarter, as well as the main town centre for galleries, museums and the river. Rent bikes to explore, take a picnic to the park, ask Gildas about dinners using seasonal produce from the market.

Reviews

Bordeaux is a beautiful, vibrant city and this charming B&B allows you to explore the city on foot, and return home to a peaceful haven. The decoration is gorgeous, understated and handsome, and the breakfasts prepared by Gildas the owner are not to be missed. I have not forgotten this charming place and can't wait to return.

Amazing place, stylish decor, very resourceful staff. Breakfast a la carte was a must.

Location

The neighbourhood

You're right next to the leafy Jardin Public park and a two-minute walk from fashionable Chartrons, which feels like a village in the centre of town and has interesting shops, cafés and bars. It's a four-minute walk to a good restaurant, Luna. The main town centre is a ten-minute walk; here you’ll find theatres and art galleries (such as the Musée des Beaux-Arts). Take the tram to flea markets.

Local points of interest from Gildas Quellien

  • Private tour to the family vineyard called Chateau Lusseau is available on request.
  • The beautiful medieval village of Saint Emilion is located 40 kilometers away from the B&B.

  • We love sharing restaurant recommendations with our guests.
  • A 4-minute walk from the B&B will take you to Rue Notre Dame, filled with fantastic antique shops.
  • Capucins Market is a must-visit at weekends.

Introducing

Gildas Quellien
