The Experience
Sitting on Port Mordreuc, with sweeping views across the Rance estuary to a fairytale château and the port of Plouër-sur-Rance, this meticulously restored 150-year-old Breton stone house blends old and new with antique family furniture, soft linens, and underfloor heating for a relaxed, homely feel. The sitting area has warm russet-coloured walls – a nod to the sails of traditional ‘gabare’ riverboats. The kitchen is well equipped for family meals and the table is big enough for everybody.
Upstairs are two calm, elegant bedrooms and a bathroom with tub, and up another narrow set of stairs, a cosy kids’ dorm with three single beds under the eaves and an en suite shower room. Outside, a landscaped private garden and terrace with a barbecue, outdoor furniture and and deckchairs.
Paddle board, sail, or ride nearby, or book a boat trip with the owners, Dorothée and Guillaume, who can also arrange a private chef, Japanese massage, or breakfast basket for the house.

Introducing
Dorothée & Guillaume De Champeaux
Guillaume and his wife Dorothée have poured heart and soul into restoring this old gabarier’s house, redesigning it from the ground up and creating three unique spaces, which can be rented separately or as one house. She led on the interiors, while he oversaw the build. They’re nearby if you need them and are happy to arrange boat trips, yoga classes and more.
This property is just the right size for a family of seven including children and the area offers a wonderful choice of activities for all members of the family.
