The Experience
Say goodbye to the rest of the world – you’re delightfully isolated here and it feels wonderful. Step inside to find high ceilings, exposed beams and creaky floors, and settle in with the hamper of cheese, wine and brioche.
With so many communal spaces, sharing a meal and chatting over morning coffee is easy. Take a dip in the pool before relaxing in outdoor nooks with your favourite read; fire up the BBQ in the secluded rear courtyard; challenge your dearest to a round of boules and ping-pong.
Head to Magnac Laval (10km) for the weekly market, restaurants and cafés; for more adventurous days drive 30 minutes to the sandy beaches of Lac St. Pardoux for water-skiing, canoeing, fishing and roaming the woodland. Work up an appetite before heading home for your alfresco dinner under the setting sun.

We had a great weekend with the family in this spacious and well-appointed barn. We enjoyed the well-stocked welcome basket. The kitchen is ideal for eating in large numbers and preparing meals with the family. The piano is great for cooks like us. Young and old enjoyed the garden games as well as the pool (very safe) and the jacuzzi. Very good welcome and advice from John and Fiona. It was perfect.

A large, very nice house for a group of 13 people. We took advantage of the many outdoor spaces, the swimming pool and the jacuzzi in a very quiet and natural environment. The rooms are very comfortable, the kitchen very functional. Thanks to John for his welcome, the hamper and his great responsiveness. I highly recommend it!

We had a fabulous week at La Grange. The swimming pool and hot tub were both used daily and we enjoyed using all the different areas of the house and garden. It was perfect for a relaxing holiday for all members of the family. We would thoroughly recommend staying at La Grange, thank you Brian and also John and Fiona, who greeted us.

Location
The neighbourhood
Your neighbours are green fields, tall trees, and just five other properties in this small hamlet - the isolation is joyous. Ten minutes behind the wheel gets you to quaint Magnac Laval where you can wander the pretty streets and stock up on croissants; have a bite to eat at Café du Gare. Yoga classes and massages are just up the road or head off on the bikes to take in the beautiful Haute-Vienne countryside. Charming Limoges - famous for its porcelain - is a 45-minute drive and is good for shopping and museums.
Local points of interest from Kate Ferguson
- Sandy beaches and very large lake at Lac St. Pardoux - 30 minutes drive with large beach areas. Surrounded by woodlands, ideal for mountain biking, horse riding, jogging, and walking. 330 hectares of lake where you can take part in a number of water sports
- Magnac Laval has an old quarter and delightful riverside. All the charm of rural France with supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Thursday is Market Day when you can shop in true French Style.
- Use one of our 8 new bicycles to collect your croissants in the morning or to just explore the countryside at a leisurely pace..
- Limoges is definitely worth a visit and famed for beautiful porcelain. Also worth visiting are Bellac, Le Dorat and Mortemart.
- 5 minutes down the road is Moulin des Combes a Naturopathic Centre with Yoga, Massages, Spa and general well being.
- The private pool can be heated at an additional cost

Introducing
Kate Ferguson
Brian has owned his places in Portugal and France for years, and he works with Kate to manage them. You’ll make your booking with her, but on arrival you’ll let yourselves in with a key safe. At The Farmhouse and The Cottage, Carina is your contact during your stay as she lives locally. At La Grange, Leanne and Neil are on hand to help if needed – they live around the corner.
We had a perfect relaxing family holiday and all felt refreshed by the end of our week. The pool and hot tub were wonderful and the scenery is beautiful and peaceful. The kitchen had everything we needed and the welcome basket was a great touch after a long drive from Caen.
