The Experience
This is a real find, down a side street and with the added joy of being able to sit in the courtyard with its orange and olive trees and a Chinese mulberry – a tranquil spot for reading a book or just sitting quietly. There’s a heated pool and an honesty bar, snacks are available in the afternoon and early evening and you can borrow beach kit, or order a picnic.
Bedrooms (four on the ground floor with access to the garden and the rest on the first) are small but packed with character; fabrics are pretty, robes and slippers are provided and shower rooms sparkle. Wake to a continental breakfast, or something more substantial – all ingredients will be local. Lovely to stay in the garden listening to birdsong before you venture out – it’s peaceful here in the hammock.
The main street runs along the beach, with lots of narrow streets running off it and the nearest restaurant is just a short stroll – especially in summer you’ll have a choice of places to eat.

Location
The neighbourhood
It's a 17-minute walk to the old town with its ancient stone walls and colourful market stalls. Here you'll find Château Grimaldi and the Picasso Museum plus lots of places to eat, from simple cafés to fine dining. Join the coastal path for some view-filled hikes, walk to Juan-les-Pins in under half an hour or a bit further for the marina. Nice is 35km and you can go by bus.
Local points of interest from Nathalie & Pierre
- Wander through 3,000 years of history in the old town, from ancient Antipolis to today's little streets, squares, cafés and ramparts overlooking the Mediterranean.
- Antibes' colourful Provençal market is the place for local fruit and vegetables, cheeses, olives, flowers and Provençal specialities, beneath the covered market in the heart of the old town.
- Housed in the Château Grimaldi overlooking the sea, the Picasso Museum displays works Picasso made during his stay in Antibes, alongside works by other modern artists.
- Follow the spectacular coastal path around Cap d'Antibes, between rocky coves, turquoise water and Mediterranean vegetation. One of our favourite walks, with the sea beside you almost all the way.
- Garoupe lighthouse & chapel. Climb to the Garoupe for sweeping views over Antibes, the Alps and the Mediterranean, then visit the little sailors' chapel, filled with ex-votos and maritime memories.
- Explore Antibes and Cap d'Antibes aboard La Jabotte's little tuk-tuk, from the old town and Port Vauban to Garoupe beach and the Olivette harbour, or enjoy a longer discovery ride with photo stops.
