The Experience
Owner Sébastien cooks superb modern French dishes from scratch and the restaurant buzzes throughout the year – non-residents are welcome too. If you don’t fancy getting out of bed in the morning, warm brioche and other good things can be delivered to your door. Walk or cycle (there are bikes to borrow) through 37 acres of green parkland, or get in the car for abbeys, châteaux, gardens, WWI sites. The coast is a 40-minute drive for blustery walks, wild swimming and seal spotting.Return to cool bedrooms and opulent bathrooms: one suite has a jacuzzi, another has two baths side by side. Aim to stay in the treehouse – wrapped round a sycamore, with a big decked balcony under the leaves – it’s the business!

A lovely place to stay for a family reunion, occuping 8 of the excellent bedrooms. They are all individually and well furnished in converted farm buildings. Good beds and hot bathwater. Sebastian was a very good host and we had a delicious dinner.

Wonderful place to stay. The whole experience - location, style, decor, food, service, all reflect Sebastien's strong and highly attractive vision. Rooms are simply but beautifully furnished and very spacious. Food is superb - interesting and varied menu, stylish but unfussy and beautifully cooked. The staff deserve a particular mention for their relaxed and friendly but highly efficient service. Happy to communicate in English but tolerant of poor French! The location is calm and peaceful. There was nothing we didn't like and we will certainly return.

We have also made a point over the past five years of spending the last night of our holiday in La Cour de Remi (rather than gunning for Calais and getting home a day early!) This is a splendid establishment – excellent food and very reasonable accommodation.

Location
The neighbourhood
The nearest town, Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise, is a ten-minute drive - it has a Monday market, shops and restaurants. Arras (45-minutes) played a significant role in both world wars and has an important WW1 memorial and the Jardins de Sericourt are stunning. The coast is close too - Le Touquet (40-minutes) is an elegant seaside resort, popular with Parisians, with interesting architecture.
Local points of interest from Sébastien de la Borde
- Headquarter of the British Tank corp during first world war
- The Centenary of the Great War 2014. The front and infamous trenches which brought so much suffering to British & Commonwealth, French and German combatants are only approx 20 mins away.
- Interested in Medieval history? The famous battle of Agincourt took place only 10 mins from here so feel free to visit the excellent visitors centre.
- The antena of the Louvres is only 40 minutes away.....Visit Le Louvres Lens on a rainy day....
- Arras and its famous square are very interesting to visit on an architectural point of view.... Specially on Saturday morning with the local market....

Introducing
Sébastien de la Borde
Sébastien returned to the family home, after an international career, to carve out a lifestyle business. After a stint working with Stephane Jego from L'ami Jean he opened the restaurant, created nine bedrooms and a treehouse and began welcoming guests. He’s passionate about seasonal, local food, the glorious surrounding countryside and bringing guests together in a convivial setting.
Absolutely fantastic food for breakfast including home-made, warm brioche bread every day, home-made jams and even their own pressed apple juice. We had a fabulous evening meal too - each course was superb. Really spacious room which was good value for money. A wonderful way to end our holiday.
