The Experience
Come and go as you please at this relaxed, family-run ‘cascina’ looking over the vast countryside. Bedrooms (on the ground and first floor) are large and private, with handmade desks, bed frames and wardrobes – the feel is modern and there’s a lack of clutter, but you can rustle up teas with your own kettle, and shower in big bathrooms. Breakfasts are served at separate tables: homemade cakes and jams, yogurts, brioche and locally sourced meats and cheeses.
You’re welcome to wander the large, beautiful gardens – a small, spring-fed lake complete with ducks, woodland walks, herbaceous borders and a wisteria arch, and of course the museum of agriculture. In summer you’ll find lots of hideaway spots to sit and enjoy it all, and you can picnic in the Orangerie.
Borrow bikes and head out into flat countryside; Cremona is six kilometres for many cafés, restaurants and shops, plus the famous violin museum, where precious Stradivari instruments are still created.

Location
The neighbourhood
There's a small village just 2km away with a good restaurant, a couple of small shops, a café and a chemist. The flat farmland is ideal for cycling and walking, and there are many designated paths, including one which runs along the river Po. Recommended restaurants include La Golena (7km) and Lido Sales Ariston (8km) for local, seasonal dishes with fish a speciality, and La Sosta or Il Bissone in Cremona.
