The Experience
Once a small medieval house, then a farm in the 1700s, this sprawling stone building sits proudly in the heart of the town with many different entrances, winding corridors and steps. Guest bedrooms are on two floors, all with the means to make tea and coffee, a mini bar and stunning views over the rooftops of Cocconato to the Monferrato hills. You’ll also find a bottle of local wine.
In the summer months you can eat breakfast on the beautiful outdoor terrace with dreamy views or relax on a sun lounger in the garden area. It’s incredibly peaceful in spite of being in town. You’ll wake to the smell of Camilla’s home-baked breads, cakes and pastries, then delve into homemade jams and yogurts and locally sourced hams and cheeses.
You can rent bikes, book wine tastings and truffle trails, spa treatments five minutes away, or join in a cookery course with Camilla. Ristorante Locando Martelletti, managed by others, is part of the B&B.
