The Experience

The best of two seductive worlds: ten minutes’ drive takes you from the bustling heart of Florence to this classic country villa hotel. After a hectic day’s sight-seeing it’s heaven to unwind by the pool, facing olive groves and wooded hillside, the scent of lavender, rosemary and roses rich in the air.

Manager – and sommelier – Lorenzo organises and guides vineyard and general tours (it’s only 30 miles to San Gimignano) and his sister, Silvia, runs brilliant cooking lessons. Buffet breakfasts are elegant in the glazed gazebo, with homemade cakes, local jams and breads; eggs and bacon too if you wish. A light Tuscan evening meal can be arranged, perhaps lingering afterwards with a brandy by a winter fire.

Traditional, super-comfortable bedrooms have parquet floors, coordinated floral fabrics and big, white-tiled bathrooms. There’s a little spa too with hot tub and sauna – with those beautiful views over the hills.

Reviews

Marignolle is a charming and restful place from where guests can easily reach Florence or various Tuscan towns and wineries. Lorenzo will share his passion for vino. His sister, Silvia, will give you hands-on cooking lessons. With a private pool, options for in-house spa treatments and the possibility to reserve catered dinners on site, it's a perfect place to unwind in elegance.

Location

The neighbourhood

Enchanting Florence is only a 15-minute drive or taxi ride away. Tuck into gourmet Tuscan cuisine, gape at the truly spectacular Duomo and don't leave without a glimpse at Michelangelo's world-famous statue of David, found inside the Galleria dell'Accademia. Galluzzo is a 5-minute drive for shops, cafés and restaurants. Trattoria Bibe offer a free pick-up/drop-off for guests coming for a meal.

Local points of interest from Lorenzo Bulleri

  • Relais Marignolle is located only 10 minutes from the historical center of Florence. You can reach it by taxi (only 12/15 euro), public bus or rental car and use the large public car park at the south gate, Porta Romana.
  • Cooking classes: Mrs. Paola, a great cook, teaches our guests a few of the typical Tuscan courses. The lesson usually lasts about three hours and at the end the "students" are served what they have prepared in the panoramic gazebo .
  • Lorenzo, our sommelier, organizes half or full day tours to Chianti: first you will visit the village of Greve in Chianti, then you will reach the winery for the cellar visit and wine tasting! The full day proceeds to Siena or San Gimignano.
  • Light lunch/dinner service: if you wish to relax staying in hotel, we are glad to offer a light lunch or dinner, a selection of simple and genuine Italian dishes served in our panoramic gazebo with the usual kindness and skill by our staff.
  • Green booking fees: our strategic position allows clients who love golfing to easily reach all the main golf clubs, including the unique Ugolino golf club, which is only 15-20 minutes from our property.
  • We are able to book tickets with entrance reservation for all the museums of Florence, as the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery with the original David by Michelangelo, Pitti Palace and many others...you will skip the long line at the entrance.

Introducing

Lorenzo Bulleri

Lorenzo and Silvia grew up here after the family moved to Marignolle from Florence in the 80s and turned part of the property into a relais-style hotel. Lorenzo and his young family now live in another part of the city but his father and sister, Silvia, still live on the property. A trained sommelier, Lorenzo loves to offer his guests wine tastings and tours to vineyards in Tuscany.
