The Experience

Massimo and Simonetta cultivate rare grain, make their own olive oil and delicious wines, grow figs, peaches, vegetables and soft fruit on their allotment and serve the most delicious food in their restaurant. Breakfast under the mulberry trees includes home-baked cakes, tarts and breads, jams from their own fruit, and eggs if you want. Dinner is served five nights a week – traditional Tuscan with contemporary imagination and pasta from their own grains.

Seven bedrooms (one downstairs, six up) are sumptuously decorated with playful and upbeat wall coverings, very comfortable beds and gleaming en suite bathrooms – you’ll feel very much on holiday and well looked after. On balmy days you’ll be out in the garden where you’re free to visit the allotments, wander the olive groves and feel at peace, or find a shady spot with a book.

La Costa Etrusca is less than a ten-minute drive for fabulous beaches and swimming – return to a gorgeous dinner.

Reviews

I would make this a food and wine holiday and I would revel in their homemade produce and admire the work and imagination that has realised this authentic hotel. On occasions I would head for the beach, enjoy a spritz and an evening stroll. When literary thoughts enter my head I would go to Castagnetto Carducci, open a book of poetry by Giosuè Carducci and admire his views of land and sea. Perfect.
