The Gate House

Great to be located so close to the centre of Wimborne. The Gate House with its 7 bedrooms, brilliant games room, hot-tub and 14 seater dining table was was an ideal place to gather our family together and celebrate a very special birthday.

We just came home from a weekend at the Gatehouse to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday and honestly had the most wonderful stay. From start to finish this is the best house we have ever stayed in, we are already looking for when we can book to come back…The location could not be better, only a couple of minutes’ walk from a multitude of lovely shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes ..yet when you are within the house and garden it feels remote and rather rural...The house is stunningly beautiful, yet has a really cosy, homely feel…I could go on and on!..we were all incredibly depressed leaving.

We had the most fabulous stay at a very difficult time. Right in the middle of Lockdown 2 we were moving house and needed somewhere to stay for a week in between moving out and completion. The Gate House was a real sanctuary. It was such a peaceful house and we felt cosseted and warm. If you have to be under lockdown anywhere then the Gate House is the perfect place to be.

From the initial communication to our arrival we were absolutely blown away by the level of hospitality from Jonathan and his team. The house was immaculate and the table filled with fresh eggs, bread, cookies and all the necessities for a weekend away with friends... The house itself was spotless, the beds were comfortable...The position of the house was ideal ... near shops, and next door to a lovely cafe too! I work for a collection of 5 star hotels across the UK and can safely say the whole experience resembled that of a luxurious resort from the service to the accommodation. Thank you!

Third time at The Gatehouse for our group of watercolourists. We all love the place, feel immediately at home, enjoy every minute and then can barely wait for our next visit.
