The Experience

The winemakers who once lived here kept their eye on their fortunes – there are commanding views of the Côte Chalonnaise vineyards from every window of this imposing villa. On warm days have breakfast under the pergola facing the pool – try their signature Healthy Breakfast Bowl, but local cheeses and charcuterie can be ordered too.

Suites are chic and spacious; ‘Mont Blanc’ looks out over the Saone Valley, ‘Roche Dorée’ has a super tub for soaking after a long day trekking. Bijoux ‘Ciel Bleu’, up in the eaves, is a cosy and private retreat. Interior architect Valérie has put her stamp on each with contemporary paintings and vintage finds. Sharing boards are always available and in summer there are barbecues on Fridays.

Tour the Grand Crus of Burgundy, explore gothic Beaune and take a hot air balloon up to see it all from the air. Save time for lazing by the saltwater pool and a stroll through the neighbouring vineyards, stopping off for tastings in the cellar of a local vigneron.

Introducing

Mr & Mrs Hudelot

Well-travelled Jean-Phillipe and Valérie swapped the city life for sleepy Montagny-lès-Buxy. The beautifully appointed interiors are down to Valérie, an interior architect; her eclectic style mixes graphic prints, vintage finds and objects from their travels in Asia. They live on site and are always on hand to recommend a restaurant or book a tour.
