The Experience
You’ll feel able to spread out here in the lush Normandy countryside with six acres of oak-filled parkland to yourselves. It’s a tempting place for celebrations and big gatherings but would also work as a retreat for readers, writers, photographers and painters.Play games or billiards, watch films, bounce on an outdoor trampoline, float in a ten-metre pool and bubble in the Jacuzzi. Quiet can be sought in the old greenhouse, shaded by grape vines, or in the well-stocked library. The kitchen is immense and has Aga and Rayburn so cooking for crowds is easy.Borrow the family dogs for long, country yomps; nip to Paris for a day; find inspiration in Monet’s garden at Giverny. 40 minutes in the car will take you to Versailles and Rouen.

Location
The neighbourhood
Not a peep can be heard despite its setting around 300 metres from the main road. The six-acre estate is on the edge of the village, woodland and cultivated fields surround, with walks starting from the driveway. Angerville-la-Campagne has no shops or restaurants, but every kind of commerce under the sun can be found three kilometres away in Évreux: supermarkets to country markets. There’s an excellent riding school at Guichainville (one kilometre), which also has an acclaimed French restaurant.
Local points of interest from Roseline Bonleu
- Sites to visit: - Giverny, House of Monet and Museum: (40 mn), Castle of Bizy, The Château du Champ-de-Bataille, Abbey of Bec Helloin, park of the castle of Harcourt, Deauville and Honfleur (1 hour), Paris ( 55mn by train) - return the same day.
- Sports activities nearby: tree climbing, canoeing, tennis, horse riding ...
- On-site activities: table tennis, billiards, spa, swimming pool, trampoline, board games, home cinema.
- The young girl of the castle met Hedouard VII in the forest of Nonancourt and hid him under their skirts to protect him from an attack of brigands. To thank the young family, the royal family gave a painting of the Queen of Belgium.
- In the nineteenth century, Louis Napoleon Bonaparte would have slept in the castle in the Empire room
