The Experience
All arteries, it seems, big and small, lead to the Piazza Navona, the splendid, most animated heart of Rome. The surrounding area is characterised by a mix of artisan’s workshops, fun boutiques, cafés, trattorias and bars, and the magnificent Pantheon. Off the busy Corso Vittorio Emanuele, up on the second floor of a salmon-hued, 18th-century palazzo (with a central lift), is this apartment.
Enter to find a well-equipped kitchen, spacious living room, two double bedrooms with high ceilings, fine family heirloom antiques and art on the walls, DVDs, music, TV, bookshelves of city guides, and double-glazed windows that block out all city noise.
Hang out in the characterful local bars with summer seating under the trees. Visit the hotspots of Rome, lose yourself in the historic centre’s intriguing labyrinth of streets, then return to exquisite bedrooms with decorative brass beds.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Casa del Conte. The apartment was everything described on the website and more. It was well located, beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. We really appreciated all the little touches and the information and help received from Olivella who replied immediately to all our enquiries. If we return to Rome we would definitely stay here again.

The apartment was lovely and very conveniently located. We were greeted by the owner who took us through everything we needed to now and pointed out to us the local excellent restaurants and sights. The apartment is on the second floor but there is a lift to help with the luggage and a taxi rank around the corner. We would definitely stay again and have recommended the apartment to friends.

Location
The neighbourhood
You're immersed in the historic centre beside Campo de' Fiori square with its daily open-air flower and food market for stocking up. The cobbled streets which lead from the square are filled with an eclectic mix of small shops selling vintage clothing and souvenirs and there are many bars. On the other side of the square is Piazza Farnese with an imposing palazzo designed by Michelangelo.
Local points of interest from Andrea Marcello
- Piazza Navona ( just a 2-minute walk) represents the pride of Baroque Rome. In the center of the square, you can admire the Fountain of the Rivers, one of the greatest masterpieces of Gian Lorenzo Bernini.
- The square of Campo dei Fiori in Rome (a 1-minute walk) during the day hosts a typical open-air market of flowers, fruit, and vegetables, and at night is one of the most popular nightspots thanks to many restaurants and pubs.
- Just 10 minutes' walk from the apartment you can reach the Basilica of St. Peter. Among the many masterpieces, do not miss the Pietà by Michelangelo. A short walk from Bernini's colonnade can easily reach the Vatican Museums with the Sistine Chapel.
- Nearby there are several churches including the Church of St. Agostino and the Church of San Luigi dei Francesi where you can visit, for free, 4 paintings by Caravaggio including The Calling of St. Matthew and the Madonna di Loreto.
- Small family restaurants are available just around the corner, tucked away and barely visible, in a simple setting you can enjoy wholesome meals in the name of Roman cuisine.

Introducing
Andrea Marcello
Andrea, a hands-on host, is a native Roman with ancient noble origins. He thoroughly enjoys advising guests on all the best secrets of the city.
A wonderful restful quiet space in the busy city of Rome, and so central to walking everywhere, position could not be better. Having the separate lounge seating area is a bonus. Also great to be able to make a hot drink and have the mini fridge for cold ones. Olivella, the owner is also wonderful, so helpful with ordering taxi's and information on the city and where to eat. Rome is such an amazing city, we shall be back and we shall stay at La Casa del Conte.
