The Experience

Enchanting, inspiring, restful – immerse yourselves in the medieval architecture, laid out like a piazza and surrounded by ancient oaks, rosemary and meticulously landscaped borders. Wander through its serene gardens, explore the chapel, take refuge under a pergola with a book, slip into the marble pool. And eat, very well. The restaurant offers fine dining, deeply rooted in the region with homegrown biodynamic vegetables and herbs, ancient grains and limited meat and fish from small Umbrian suppliers.

Bedrooms and suites (eight in the main building and four in the annexe) are spacious with lovely views and pampering bathrooms. Beds have plump mattresses and fine linens, mosquito nets adorn the windows, you’ll feel well looked after and supremely comfortable.

Head to the big wooden pergola for morning yoga or meditation, have a massage, take a pottery class in the chapel, find a quiet spot that’s all yours, switch off completely.

We think you'll love

  • The communal indoor spaces – the elegant bar area, lots of squashy sofas and armchairs for reading a book or listening to music
  • Spending time in the wonderful gardens, smelling the flowers and herbs, enjoying listening to birds, cooling off by the pool
  • Eating so well – the menus are mainly plant-based and much is grown here, biodynamically. The tastes will be sublime

Introducing

Frederik Kubierschky & Catharina Luetjens

Frederik and Catherina, both with a shared passion for hospitality, found an old estate in need of love. Collaborating closely with Florentine architect Jacopo Venerosi Pesciolini, they have breathed new life into this ancient estate. Their philosophy was to create tailored experiences with a genuine human connection – a warm, authentic approach which guests will love.
