The Experience
A huge old Cornish house, built by Kate’s ancestors and which has never changed hands. Find delightful, gorgeously faded grandeur, along with Indian rugs, antique furniture, ornate plasterwork, portraits and a piano… even a harp. Historians will be in their element: pass three Celtic crosses dating from the 8th century before the long drive finds the imposing house (all granite gate posts and lions) and a rambling garden with grotto, lake, pasture and woodland.
Bedrooms are traditional, full of books, antiques and pots of flowers; bathrooms are spick and span, one small and functional, two large. Come to experience a ‘time warp’ and charming Kate’s good breakfasts – locally-produced sausages and bacon, eggs anyway you want, good coffee, all taken at the grand dining table.
Wander the pretty estate for miles, pop into the Trengilly Wartha in Constantine for excellent food and a lovely garden. You’re close to Falmouth University, too.

A completely magical place. Just making our way up the drive, we felt like we were stepping into a little eddy outside the rush of time. The house is filled with treasures, but also a sense of ease. Even the peacocks in the garden appeared particularly relaxed. The welcome was so warm, the room so peaceful, we wished we had longer than a quick weekend to stay. We will definitely return to see the garden in Spring.

Exceptional! A great and lovely house with an exceptional hostess. The room was very quiet, big and confortable. The tips we were given were just great and allowed us to make the best of our time in the area. On top of that, we decided to have dinner one day and the food was just amazing. No doubt we will go back!

Incredibly exciting place to stay. We are going on the SW Coast Path and couldn't get accommodation at the trailhead. So we were picked up and driven back to the trailhead the next day. Good food. Cozy host. Nice garden. Lots of exciting history associated with the place. Fun to stay in such a place and be able to use the garden, dining room and living room.
