The Experience
Pop out of the door and trot down the hill – the harbour is 20 steps away. Take the dog and head for the sands: Bamaluz Beach is two minutes. This quaint fisherman’s cottage is tucked between others on a cobbled lane in the heart of St Ives.
The interior is fresh, beautiful, and cleverly reconfigured to make the most of the space. Up from the kitchen/ sitting/ dining room is the bedroom under the eaves; down is a TV snug where friends can stay, with a wet room alongside.
Set off on the coastal path via Zennor (six miles) and get the bus back: the scenery is stunning. Make the most of Cornish produce and sea views at Porthminster Kitchen; enjoy a pie, a pint and live music at the ancient Sloop Inn. Come home to bath robes, toasty floors, and a wood-burner.

Location
The neighbourhood
You are a step from everything yet away from the summer frenzy of St Ives. Small shops, restaurants, pubs and galleries abound, as do beaches: Porthmeor is great for sandcastles and surfing. Enjoy burgers and local beers at Blas Burgerworks, and oysters at Portminster Beach Café. Don’t miss the Barbara Hepworth sculpture museum and garden, or Tate St Ives. Catch the scenic train to Penzance; relish the bumpy ride to Seal Island.
Local points of interest from Sarah Pope
- The cottage was once a fish cellar as St Ives was a busy fishing port in years gone by, but it bears no resemblance to its former origins now!
- There are 3 sandy beaches within 5 minutes walk, one of which is designated for dogs all year round. Sit on our bench at the front of the cottage, sipping wine and gazing at the sandy St Ives Harbour Beach.
- Shellseekers is located in the centre of Downalong (the most desirable part of St Ives), perfectly located for the numerous restaurants, pubs and bars of St Ives. The best coffee shop in town is just a couple of minutes away.
- The South West coastal path which is the longest national trail running from Minehead round to Poole is within 5 minutes walk.
- The cottage is surrounded by wonderful opportunities for sketching or painting for keen artists and two of Cornwall's major artistic hubs (The Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth museum) are within easy walking distance.
- Very comfy kingsize sofabed in second sitting room downstairs can be made up on request for extra guests.PLEASE NOTE: Mid Week Breaks (Mon to Fri) and Long Weekends (Fri to Mon) are priced at 75% of the weekly rate.

Introducing
Sarah Pope
The owners, barristers who swapped London for Somerset, have long loved St Ives, especially its setting and its beautiful light. Now they have a bolthole of their own, “an escape from the day-to-day pressures of life.” There’s a key safe for you to let yourselves in, a housekeeper on hand if required, and a management company to give help at any time.
A real little gem, hidden away in the heart of St. Ives. Beautifully renovated, keeping the old charm but full of luxury and comfort. Warm and cosy with underfloor heating and a log burner, perfect for a winter getaway. Shellseekers is peaceful and yet surrounded by amazing places to eat, art galleries and interesting shops as well as stunning beaches and great walking.
