The Hayloft, Cumrew House

What a lovely find. We were welcomed by a glowing wood burning stove and very friendly hosts and their dogs and cat! The Hayloft is very cosy and comfortable and well laid out. Beautiful surroundings including a walled garden and a tennis court for the energetic. There are lovely quiet walks right from the doorstep. We certainly hope to return before too long.

We really enjoyed our stay, warm and cosy despite the frosty weather. Kit and Andrew were so helpful and the setting is wonderful. Perfect for visiting Hadrian's wall, castles, priories and the fells. Highly recommended.

A wonderful week visiting family, walking and we even managed to fit in some tennis! The stove warmed us on the less cheery days and our beds were wonderfully comfortable. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Kit and Andrew are perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They have a wealth of local knowledge and always go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable. The Hayloft has everything you need to enjoy the perfect holiday come rain or shine. Fully equipped, spotlessly clean, soft linen and very cozy, especially with the log burner on. The power shower with lashings of hot water was wondrous after a day out walking. So peaceful sitting in the walled garden and wandering around it. We highly recommend staying at the Hayloft for short or long breaks.

We honestly cannot recommend the Hayloft highly enough. Peaceful idyllic surroundings, Kirsty and Andrew are awesome hosts, and the Hayloft is just beautiful with everything you require right down to the smallest detail to make your stay just perfect. It’s warm and cosy in the evenings with the roaring log burner, and bright and airy in the day. With plenty of interesting places to visit surrounding Cumrew the Hayloft makes the perfect holiday or mini break destination. We personally cannot wait to return.
