The Experience
Hidden in the North Devonshire countryside, Pickwell Manor was once so grand it even had its own laundry house. That’s now been cleverly transformed into this quirky one-up, two-down pad perfect for couples.
Cook in the well-equipped galley kitchen, eat by a sunny window or take it all outside to the table on your own private lawn. You’ll find a tablet chock full of useful information to inspire your holiday jaunts too.
The Manor is set in six acres of glorious grounds that you’re free to roam. There’s a guest laundry and drying room in the main house, and a coffee room if you’re feeling sociable. Walk to the beach, hike the South West coast path; there’s a shop in nearby Georgeham, and two good pubs – Rock Inn and the King’s Arms – for dinner out.

Location
The neighbourhood
You’re surrounded by fields and narrow country lanes, and a stroll downhill reveals Putsborough Beach: two miles of golden sands with Woolacombe at the far end. The surf mecca of Braunton, four miles away, is the place to hire boards and stock up on supplies. You can be in Ilfracombe in 20 minutes to catch the ferry to Lundy, but if you’d rather stay on terra firma, the wilds of Exmoor are a 15-mile drive inland.
Local points of interest from Pickwell Manor
- We are lucky enough to be only a 5-min (depending on traffic) drive from Putsbourgh beach. This amazing sandy beach stretches 2.5miles to Woolacombe beach. These & nearby Croyde beach are a must visit.
- Another nearby beach is Lee bay. This is a great one for rock pools and at low tide you can take the smugglers path through the rocks to a hidden sandy beach. As this beach is not golden yellow sand and hidden away it rarely gets busy.
- We are just off the coastal path, so loads of amazing walks along cliffs and beaches.
- Activities on our doorstep: Surfing, Stand Up Paddleboarding, wild swimming, coasteering and so much more...
- You are spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out. We have two great pubs in the village that do superb food. Or a more alfresco style option is the amazing Sri Lankan curry at nearby Barricane beach.

Introducing
Pickwell Manor
Two families bought Pickwell Manor in 2007. They've made major changes, creating 10 apartments and four treehouses. It's a fine example of using renewable energy for all aspects of the business. The Pickwell Foundation was set up to channel profits into charitable causes.
