The Experience

Light floods in through floor to ceiling windows and there’s a spacious feel thanks to high ceilings and ancient beams. All three rooms are forward facing, some with exposed Cotswold stone: the living room has the kitchen to the side and is plenty big enough for two; a table sits looking out of the double doors for sunny meals and there is comfy seating facing a smart TV.

On sunny days you’ll be in the gravelled garden, quiet and private – tucked away from the lane. It’s an idyllic spot in a beautiful village, just the odd sound of children splashing in the ford or horses clopping past. The Warden’s Way footpath can be joined nearby for stunning walks – 20 minutes will take you to a good pub in Lower Slaughter or you could eat at the very posh Lords of the Manor hotel.

Bourton-on-the-Water is just under 3 miles for shopping – you can walk, just one busy road to cross. Come back to settle in with books or TV, enjoy the peace.

Reviews

Really fantastic place in delightful location. Most enjoyable and highly recommended.

Martin & Helen, Gaydon

We had a wonderful week in the barn. The barn itself was incredibly clean and with all the amenities you would need. The bathroom was wonderful with a fabulous shower and bath. The village is stunning with wonderful walks on the doorstep. It was incredibly quiet. Our dog loved the barn and the area and enjoyed having dips in the Ford. Rachel was a great host with fantastic communication. We will definitely be back.

Our stay was even better than expected. The Barn is immaculate with a lovely private garden for BBQs, and the setting is just magical - right opposite the ford. We had a fabulous stay. Highly recommend! We had a wonderful stay - the location in particular was even better than we imaged. Thank you :)

Fantastic place in a beautiful location. We cannot recommend enough. Rachel was a brilliant host, pre-empting questions with detailed updates before arrival and providing a great pack of things to do locally.

Although I had very high expectations after seeing the photos of the barn on website, I have to say that accommodation was far more beautiful in reality. The location, and surrounding area is so picturesque with walks for the dogs and so many beautiful buildings and flowers to see. The barn was clean, luxurious, and very spacious. The garden just perfect. I would love to return on my next trip.

If you are looking for a romantic holiday or quiet getaway in the Cotswolds for two, look no further. This converted barn is tucked away in a tiny village and the accommodation is seller. Perfectly designed, clean and modern. My husband and I stayed for two nights we could have easily stayed a week. The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you need. There's a large freestanding bath in the bathroom plus a standing shower, excellent water pressure, the bed was super comfortable. We adored the garden . Rachel is an excellent host. I would absolutely stay here or at any of her properties.

Laura

A beautiful, well-designed barn in the most idyllic of locations. There are picturesque walking routes directly from the door and Upper Slaughter is a great base for exploring the Cotswolds - it's just a short drive to Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.

Local points of interest from Rachel Murphy

  • This was a falling down old cow barn which we finished renovating in January 2022. It retains lots of character but is now modern and comfortable.
  • It is very close to the River Eye, one of the most picturesque spots in The Cotswolds
  • It has a private sunny garden, with terrace and gravel garden planted with mediterranean plants
  • It is within easy reach of all the best Cotswold attractions and amazing walking and cycling from the door.
