The Experience
Walks down the surrounding wildlife-filled lanes will please lovers of nature all year round, in summer you’ll spot butterflies and bees while at night the resident owls flit through the starlit skies. The open-plan living/dining room is a grand place to settle, with plenty of books, smokeless fuel range and comfy seating. You’ll find basics for cooking in the kitchen cupboards and a super welcome pack of own label wine, local plum bread and butter.
On sunny days you can spill through the French windows onto the patio for al fresco suppers, a barbecue and optional pop-up hot tub. Drive a short distance, or walk, for wild swimming in the lake, or you can try your hand at fly fishing. The owners are happy to let you use their tennis court.
Upstairs are two charming bedrooms with lovely quilts and blankets, gleaming en suite bathrooms and an extra child or cot room. You can order a meal from a good local chef, or walk to the Clickem Inn.

Location
The neighbourhood
You're on the outskirts of Thorganby village with far-reaching views of the rolling countryside. Stock up at the excellent farm shop, The Wolds Edge, who sell Lincoln Red beef and have a café. Louth is only 12 miles, a unique Georgian market town, good for exploring. Buy haddock and salmon from Alfred Enderby in Grimsby – smoked in the traditional way and which can be delivered.

Introducing
Emma Milligan-Manby
James and Emma own Manby Farms, an arable and suckler cow enterprise at Thorganby Hall Farm, where James's family have farmed for over a hundred years. They are part of a Mid Tier Stewardship scheme, passionate about their eco credentials, sustainable farming and low energy consumption. Owl boxes, bat bricks, rainwater harvesting and solar panels are also a major part of their journey.
One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. The garden gets the evening sunshine and has a beautiful rural outlook
