A fun, versatile space – the whole first floor of the owners’ Edwardian terraced house – a stone’s throw from Oxford Street in an area dotted with good eateries. Both former architects, Wendy (who’s nurturing a veg garden on the roof) and Mike, live upstairs so are on hand to greet and to advise. What they’ve created for their self-caterers is one large, light and uncluttered living area with high ceilings and huge windows which can be divided with screens as the need for privacy dictates. Curvaceous furniture and the odd retro touch give a quirky 50s feel – though there’s cable TV and WiFi too. Original floorboards are lime-washed, walls white, fabrics mainly natural with the odd pop of colour. There’s a lime-green galley-style kitchen (starter essentials provided) with hob, dishwasher, a small round table and chairs and beyond this area the wetroom. This little space – again with screens – has a smart square sink, shower and loo, nice smellies and soft towels. Fitzrovia is a great part of town, close to Soho, China Town, Regent Street and Piccadilly – best come without a car, parking is pricey and public transport is excellent..
My friend and I stayed in the self catering flat which we found to have everything we needed. The location is great - you are minutes from busy areas like Oxford Street yet the neighbourhood is fairly quiet. Thee are plenty of local restaurants and coffee shops so no need to eat at overpriced places that are in tourist areas. I can highly recommend this place and will stay again.
