The Experience
Your own elegant drawing room comes in country house style: comfy chairs and sofas, books, games and an honesty bar so you can help yourself to a gin and tonic while admiring the heavenly views – fun to come with friends and take the whole place over. You’re well looked after by the owners who live separately in the old servants’ quarters.
Breakfast starts with fresh fruit, yogurt and granola – cooked options use local and seasonal produce as much as possible. If all four rooms are booked and you give a bit of notice you can have an evening meal, either an informal buffet or a proper three-course treat – Poppy is a trained chef so it’s worth staying in. Nod off in gorgeous bedrooms – one king size and three super kings which can be twins, all with sparkling en suite bathrooms.
Find a shady spot in the garden and read quietly, drive to stunning beaches and castles, set off on glorious walks through rolling countryside to discover why Northumbrians are generally happy souls.

Location
The neighbourhood
The nearest town is Wooler, for shops and cafés, a whisky distillery with an award-winning museum and a restaurant, Ad Gefrin. There's also an Italian restaurant, Milan. There are lots of good pubs just a short drive, and half an hour by car will take you to Bamburgh for the gorgeous castle and beach. Visit Warkworth, Dunstanburgh and Alnwick for more castles and the famous gardens.
Local points of interest from Mylo Mahon
- Bamburgh Castle and beach are just half an hours drive from us, so an ideal for a days to walking and exploring and then return to the peace and quiet of the national park
- The historic market town of Wooler is just over a mile away, with many lovely shops, the fantastic Italian restaurant Milan, and then Ad Gefrin an incredible distillery, Anglo Saxon museum and bistro, a true architectural gem!
- We have many walks to do right from the front door, perhaps a gentle stroll through the beautiful countryside or further into the National Park as far as you would like to go, even to the summit of The Cheviot!

Introducing
Mylo Mahon
Mylo and Poppy moved to the house in 2020 and have completely renovated it. Poppy, originally from the Scottish Borders, has been a private chef and is also a trained food stylist and recipe tester. Mylo, who hails from Ireland, worked in restaurants and chalets in Switzerland then ran Gidleigh Park and Skibo Castle before coming to Yearle House. You're in very safe hands!
