The Experience
This 18th-century malthouse has an appealing flagged bar that steps down to a smouldering fire in the snug… the perfect spot to enjoy the papers. In summer, spill into the garden where the view reaches five miles. Walkers drop by for a drink or Sunday lunch; locals stay for acoustic evenings.
The food here is a real draw: the kitchen churns its butter and bakes its bread and the chefs take pride in their inventive menus. Spoil yourself with the three-course Nest menu, or the more relaxed bar menu; the sommelier has put together a superb wine list.
You’re looked after beautifully and the sense of comfort is enveloping; upstairs are four bedrooms to retreat to. Visit nearby Burford, with its medieval three-arched bridge and pretty little Stow-in-the-Wold.

Accommodation
Location
The neighbourhood
There are no shops in Nether Westcote; the village is a firmly residential spot. The Cotswolds are beloved by the famous, thanks to its medieval market towns and chocolate-box villages. The Rollrights, The Westcotes, Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water... each journey takes you through gentle lanes and across streams. While the landscape is lovely, the honey stone architecture reflects the area’s wool-rich past.

Introducing
Adam Taylor
Adam Taylor returned to the UK in 2019 after stints working in Canada and Africa and bought The Feathered Nest. He’s energetic, cosmopolitan and has lots of plans and ideas for the inn. He’s supported by a great team including head chef Rene.
Three couples, including myself and my husband went to celebrate all our wedding anniversaries. We all booked rooms, had dinner and stayed the night. We were very well looked after and had a fantastic meal with accompanying wine and to top it off a fantastic breakfast. The staff made us feel very special and we had a wonderful time away that we will never forget.
