Hardwick House

With apologies for the tardiness of this but it has to be said that Hardwick House is a most remarkabel place (the National Trust would love it) and our Hostess was the most delightful person you could hope to meet. Our huge thanks.

What a find. A traditional B&B with delightful attention to detail. A tea pot with a choice of tea , home made cake and a charming room in which to stay. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience to arrive and go up the steps to the impressive front door. A very pleasant welcome and once inside you immediately feel a world away from everyday life. A very lived in house however and the Acorn room was beautifully balanced, decorated and with luxurious bedding and china. After a breakfast with Lucy's homemade marmalade it was a few steps before being in an area offering extensive independent shopping set amongst Tudor buildings and artisan food. Hardwick House is in a perfect position to access the town, the River, The Dingle and provides a restful, special stay.

Hardwick House is a perfect place to stay in Shrewsbury: not only is it very central (with car parking) - the house is gorgeous and Lucy Whitaker makes her guests feel thoroughly welcome. Elegant bedroom and bathroom; excellent breakfast.
