Compact and comfortable, the long, vaulted single-storey building is both a snug hideaway and bright, summery sanctuary, with views out to the lawn and pond, all snugly enclosed by shrubs and trees, reassuringly private and hidden away. Neutral tones, floral fabrics and well-placed lamps create a restful space in the open-plan sitting room and neat kitchen. Across the hall, a spacious, gentle blue-painted bedroom with vaulted ceiling, leading through to the modern shower room. Home-made fruit cake awaits your arrival, plus logs for the wood burner, fresh flowers and a heart – and toe – warming touch: hot water bottles for chilly nights. Take your pick of a rich selection of local attractions, including Suffolk classics Woodbridge, Constable Country and the coast. Eye is ten minutes’ drive and Norfolk another ten beyond, making Norwich and the Broads easily accessible. If you prefer to stay local, it’s just ten minutes’ walk to the pub and nearest shop.
