The Experience

Candles are often burning inside and outside the front door of this attractive house and you’re welcomed in with homemade refreshments. Unwind in the guest sitting room or out in the pretty garden.

Milly is a racing enthusiast and has named each immaculate bedroom after three famous tracks. Find homemade lavender bags, sink-into linen, choices of teas and coffee and a tasty something – perhaps lemon drizzle cake or biscuits. Wake for breakfast in the airy kitchen: homemade smoothie of the day and granola, fruit salad, different breads, a ‘Full Monty’ with bacon and sausages from a local farmer, eggs however you fancy, mushrooms and more, or a ‘Veggie Monty’ with avocado, poached eggs, chilli and roasted tomatoes.

There’s an alpaca farm down the road and you can arrange to take one for a walk. Wander through the magical Kingley Vale forest (home to Europe’s oldest yew trees), stroll to a pub for dinner – Milly’s guests get a discount.

Reviews

I loved this exquisitely restored and thoughtfully furnished house in the heart of Funtington village. The very warm, multi-talented and much travelled. Milly has drawn ideas from her travel experience around the world to create a B&B which has everything. She aims to please and will provide her guests with a memorable but restful stay.

SUPERB!!!! Sometimes you stumble across a GEM, and THIS is one of those times.

My 13 year old daughter Zoe and I stayed here on the penultimate day of a 4 day hike. We were greeted with genuine warmth by Milly and our eyes lit up as she showed us around. Everywhere was light and airy, beautifully and elegantly decorated and furnished, whilst still retaining its character and history, also spotlessly clean...Thanks Milly, it was really special and I would highly recommend a visit here to anyone. We were only sad we could not stay longer, but I can guarantee we will return. I loved it here! Best hotel/ bed & breakfast I have ever been to. Super friendly as well. 10/10

Location

The neighbourhood

Saddlers is just off the road that winds through the pretty West Sussex village of Funtington. You can walk to two pubs, a restaurant, a farm shop and the 13th-century church. It's a 10-minute drive to Chichester and Goodwood.

Local points of interest from Milly Boxley

  • Funtington is beautiful village set in the foothills of the Southdowns National Park and perfectly located for trips to Goodwood, Bosham, West Wittering and Chichester.
  • Saddlers was built by Mr Fred Ewens in 1900 who was a well respected saddler, the house was originally called Blenheim. In 2017 Millly & Tim converted the house into a B&B in and has done the rooms up to exceptionally high standard.
  • We have a 4 delightful country pubs / restaurants near by. Fox & Hounds - 5 mins walk, Hallidays Restaurant - 2 mins walk, The Richmond Arms pub - 2 mins drive & The Horse & Groom pub - 1 min drive.
