The Experience

The Milking Parlour is the perfect retreat for a couple or two; find an airy living room, a private patio for sunny breakfasts, comfortable bedrooms with views over the South Downs and goose-down-topped beds to sink into after a day walking or cycling – footpaths leave from the door. Sandra loves welcoming guests and is on hand at the barn should you need anything. She leaves you a generous hamper with supplies for a continental breakfast – look forward to homemade organic bread, homemade granola and good coffee. On summer evenings, head straight out across fields to The Cock Inn for great food and local Harvey’s beer. You’ll find lots of great gardens and festivals to dip into at Glyndebourne (a few minutes’ drive) or head to Lewes for independent shops and cafés. The coast is within easy reach.

Reviews

Ben, Bristol

I found The Milking Parlour to be a perfect retreat for a stay in East Sussex - private, secure, comfortable, clean, well specified and finished, and the hosts could not be more helpful and charming. There are beautiful views to Glyndebourne and the location is ideal to explore the South Downs and Lewes, plus there are enjoyable local walks on the doorstep. A great place to relax and recuperate and I’m looking forward to returning at some stage.

Tony, Salisbury

The Milking Parlour at Little Norlington Barn is exceedingly well equipped and comfortable and located within walking distance of a very good pub and a short drive from Lewes and Brighton. Sandra is a thoughtful and helpful host providing great local information on pubs, walks and places to visit. Highly recommended!

Ann, Saffron Walden

The Milking Parlour is an absolutely lovely place to stay. It's bright, very comfortable and super clean. Sandra left an extensive and appetising selection of breakfast items for us, which was very welcome. The parlour is set in a pretty and quiet lane with extensive views over to the South Downs, yet within easy reach of Lewes, the coast and other days out. Sandra and Miles are excellent hosts; friendly and knowledgeable and they made our rather enthusiastic dog very welcome too! We really hope we can return for another visit before too long.

Helen, Cobham Surrey

We had a wonderful stay here, Sandra and Miles are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. We spent 4 days walking on the South Downs - beautiful. This is a great location with so many places easily accessible and then back to the Milking Parlour for relaxation and peace. The Milking parlour has everything you need and the extras. Very calm, as soon as you walk in it is so homely. Thank you.

Elizabeth, London

We had a wonderful stay at the Milking Parlour and would stay again! The barn conversion was immaculate so well thought out. The decor and facilities were fantastic. Power shower, lovely comfortable bed, super clean, well quipped kitchen, beautiful views of the South Downs with kind and considerate hosts to top it. Highly recommended.
