The Experience

You are in the heart of a beautiful village – brimming with Cotswold stone walls, tiled roofs, hanging baskets, two churches, cricket ground and jolly pub. This converted 1651 barn shares the owners’ drive; Karen and Paul, green-fingered, open their garden for cream teas in June. Step in to find ground-floor bedrooms, not huge but with thick mattresses and goose down, one with a charming wrought-iron bed, and super bathrooms with travertine floors and glass-tiled showers. More stylishness awaits at the top of the central spiral stair, where ancient oak beams support a large luminous living space of spotlit walls, wooden floors, charcoal sofas… and books, games, retro CDs, DVDs, freeview TV and wood-burner for cosy evenings in. To the side is the kitchen, a convivial space in which cooks can chop and stir. Walks are marked and gloriously rural; Stratford (for theatres) and Cheltenham (festivals and races) are close. Karen, a keen runner and mountain biker, will help you plan routes, and Bredon Hill beckons between old thatched roofs – take time to discover more.

Reviews

Linda, Haywards Heath

Delightful place to stay, spacious yet feels cosy at the same time. Situated in a quiet village but lots of walks and places of interest which are easy yo get to. Highly recommended, planning our next stay for 2023.

Peter, Wetherby

Beautiful accomodation, to an excellent standard, with everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Lovely walks nearby, including up Brendon Hill, with great views from the top. We chose it in order to meet up with friends - they came from the Isle of Wight, and we from Yorkshire, so it was a great central location for our stay. Very highly recommended.

Rachel, Cambridge

Lovely barn - beautiful, spacious, and clean - and Karen & Paul were the perfect hosts - there for any questions and queries we had however small!. The little touches made all the difference, flowers, milk, a bottle of fizz on arrival. The barn is in a perfect location for exploring the Malvern's, Wye Valley & Cotswolds - and really felt like a beautiful home from home on return in the evening. Off street parking, middle of the village, pub opposite, surrounded by amazing farm shops! Nothing else we could have asked for.

Paul, Reggio Emilia, Italy

The handsome converted barn is clean, roomy, well-funished but never losing its rustic charm. Karen and Paul are the perfect hosts. Kind, considerate, approachable and meticulous. Ashton itself is a quiet and cheery village, surrounded by wonderful countryside and lanes to explore and in easy driving distance of many great tourist attractions. Will definitely return!

Hilly, Southport

What a little gem. Not only is it stunning visually but it has everything you could need. We spent a week here and enjoyed every minute. Karen and Paul are the perfect hosts and helped out with local knowledge and offered all those little extras that make a holiday special. Fantastic
