The Experience
This is farming territory: chugging tractors, ploughed fields, neatly clipped hedgerows. John’s farm is vibrantly green and peaceful with 80 acres of woodland you’re free to roam. The family have nurtured this land for half a century; uncover the 4th-century ‘vanished’ village, the 800-year-old chapel and the 2000 BC burial chamber. Your hideaways are thoughtfully modern and flooded with light; both have sitting rooms with French doors opening to private patios. At Fancy House, you have a good-sized kitchen with everything you need and a working fireplace in the sitting room. Upstairs, bedrooms have excellent beds with white linen; the double has a window seat with views to the sea. In Ty Coed: a comfy living room, and a kitchen with gas stove and Welsh slate floor (underfloor heated). An open staircase takes you to a mezzanine twin bedroom with a fresh feel. The ground floor double, next to the living area, has a lofty beamed ceiling and views to the garden and woods beyond. Both have tiled bathrooms that sparkle, with free-standing baths. Rural bliss, but stroll for half an hour to find pub and shops.

We stayed in Ty Coed over the Easter weekend and we were so fortunate with the amazing weather. The cottage was lovely to stay in and really felt like home away from home! ...Kitchen was well equipped with dishwasher/washing machine and and all the things you could think of!! Some lovely additions too including badminton rackets, wind breaker for beach. Table football and table tennis in the games room was brilliant! Location is excellent for exploring the island and close enough to walk to LLigwy beach! Peaceful and and away from any traffic noise. Hopefully we will be able to return...!

This was our 4th visit to the Fancy House and as always the cottage was perfect. Very cosy, comfortable and well equipped. In a beautiful, peaceful location with views of the sea and ancient village from the master bedroom. Short walk to a beautiful beach and coastal path. Jon the owner, is a perfect host, very friendly and always on hand in an unobtrusive way. Hope to return to Lligwy again soon.

This is a delightful cottage completely modernised with everything that you want and is ideally located. The owner is most helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Our family have used this property and the other properties available for many years and would recommend them without hesitation.

Fancy House & Ty Coed are our two favourite places to stay on Anglesey! We always try to stay in one of them for at least a week every year. Plas Ligwy is an ideal base from which to explore the island. There is so much to see! We have been going there for quite a few years now and there are still plenty of places we haven’t visited yet! Both cottages are well equipped and cosy and John is a perfect host!
