The Experience
Inside is light, bright and spacious and all the rooms have lovely views over to Moel Y Gest then down to the sea. The colourful kitchen is roomy with space for helpers, a big table for chatterers and a built-in double oven. A lovely old butcher’s sink adds character and you’ll find all you need to cook up a storm. Take your meals outside, or have a barbecue on balmy days – you’re not overlooked at all.
You can watch a film or TV in the cosy snug with a wood-burner, or settle in the open-plan sitting room with a book and comfy seating round another wood-burner. There’s a big table in here too for convivial meals. Bedrooms have fresh white linen, white walls and antique furniture – all have gorgeous views and all you’ll hear is the odd sheep.
You’re just 1.5 miles from the coast and some spectacular beaches like Black Rock Sands, or join the Coast Path for some breathtaking ups and downs.

We think you'll love
- Staying in such a roomy house where everyone can join in, or find their own quiet space
- Being able to join the Coast Path and hike for miles spotting birds, wildflowers in spring and glorious views
- Having a sundowner on a summer evening while children and dogs play safely in the garden – you're down a track from the road and the garden is secure

You should know
- There are steep stairs to the first floor which some may find difficult
- Dogs are welcome but not allowed on the furniture – there are also many sheep so make sure you keep your dog on a lead outside of the garden
- Only one of the bedrooms is en suite, the others share two bathrooms

Location
The neighbourhood
There are some ancient ruins of farm buildings nearby and also St. Cynhearn’s Church, an 1832 delight with an interesting churchyard. A five-minute drive will bring you to Criccieth for the castle, a variety of local shops and places to eat, including Dylan's. Try out watersports, visit numerous castles, climb in Snowdonia National Park, head to Zip World which children will adore.
Local points of interest from Wern Holiday Cottages
- 2000 acre private country estate surrounded by ancient oak woodlands - perfect for dog walking or just exploring.
- You can fish in our private lake at a very reasonable cost. Our lake has been stocked solely for the use of our guests. You can also walk to the beach from Bron Y Gadair.
- Portmeirion is only a short drive away - created by Clough Williams-Ellis (the owner of the cottage is his great nephew) this quirky Italianaite village is full of surprises. Iconic architecture, scenic walks, restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlours!
- Llanbedrog is a charming little seaside village with a superb beach , the most famous line of beach huts in Wales. Visit the Oriel Plas Glyn Y Weddw Gallery - see the owner's (David) sculpture "Louise" in the garden. Lovely tea room with homemade cakes.
- Black Rock Sands is a must - The beach is so vast that you can drive your car onto it. Perfect for dog walking, shell collecting, windsurfing or just having a good old run about.
- We have just been awarded the Best Holiday Accommodation Provider in Wales by Prestige!

Jack’s farmhouse is everything that is stated and more; even the excellent photographs don’t do it justice! If you want a quiet and remote place to stay, away from all the hustle and bustle, to explore this part of Wales, this is the place! Beautiful views in all directions and the only noises you will hear are the birds and the sheep, idyllic! Absolutely delightful to enjoy breakfast on the patio as the sun rises or lunching/evening meals as the sun swings round. We thoroughly researched where we wanted to stay and the accommodation we were looking for and this easily ticked all the boxes.
