Hafod Cae Maen

We had a wonderful time at Hafod Cae Maen, the setting of the property is very magical and the house is very welcoming and has such a homely feel. We loved the garden with its amazing views and great walks from your doorstep. Such a tranquil and relaxing place to stay and comfy bedrooms too, balcony bedroom is very special. We all had fun playing Cluedo in the library with the cosy open fire adding to the atmosphere. We enjoyed a day out at Portmeirion also visited Plas Brondanw and gardens a 20 minute drive away. This is our second time staying and hope we can return again soon. Thank you.

This is now our 6th stay at Hafod Cae Maen, indicating our enjoyment ion the property. Location is perfectly situated with an elevated view of Afon Dwyryd, a stones throw from Portmeirion Village and walking distance (across country) to Castell Deudraeth. It's a springboard for exploring the Llyn, as far as Aberdaron, Plas Yn Rhiew and walks on Mynydd Mawr to view Bardsey, all doable! The private well furnished garden was a joy in the glorious weather, space for fun and games! The HCM team are really helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Look out for the welcome treats !

“This was our four-month-old puppy’s first trip away and the house provided the perfect setting for him to explore, in particular a lovely walk on Harlech beach. Paul and Claire, the house is kitted out with everything you could need and everywhere was spotless. We had a barbecue soaking in the views and enjoying the surrounding areas. We hope to be back very soon!

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hafod Cae Maen. Thank you so much Paul and Claire for the little touches (flowers and snacks) and all the info (got to love the nice, thick guest information folder.) We were blessed with the weather - cold but dry and bright. An early wake-up on the first morning saw me walking all the routes from the house, seeing the beautiful colours change on the mountains. About our sixth time in the area, but Hafod Cae Maen surpasses all previous accommodation. It is such a comfortable house, with all attention to detail. We will definitely be returning.
