Le Mas

Le Mas is a slice of paradise. Hosting is fantastic - nothing is too much trouble, both before and during your stay, and there is a wealth of unexpected special touches provided. The property is exceptional - luxurious and peaceful, with stunning gardens and views. We had a wonderfully memorable fortnight as a group of friends, with teenage daughters. Days in the pool or exploring the countryside; evenings in the summer kitchen, watching the sunsets. We cannot recommend Le Mas enough. Perfection!

We have just returned from our wonderful family holiday at Le Mas et Le Mazet. We loved every minute. It is a magical place with stunning scenery, peaceful atmosphere and is incredibly well equipped for a superb holiday. The quality and attention to detail is phenomenal. Rupert and Franck are extremely kind and helpful. The property is finished to a very high standard with comfortable beds with beautiful bed linen, luxury White Company products in all bathrooms. We enjoyed the heated pool and had lots of family fun and games. We look forward to returning in the future.

This year we made our 7th trip to Le Mas & Le Mazet. The location is incredible. The view from Le Mas is also entrancing and bucolic; haybales, sunsets and chateaus all from the stunning outdoor kitchen. The property itself still really stands out, even all these years on, maintained inside and out with phenomenal attention to detail. During your stay the owners Rupert & Franck are on hand if you need them but practically invisible if not. Each visit it feels more and more like home from home. We countdown to our next visit from the moment we leave!

Rupert & Franck have created holiday heaven! Their property is on site but they manage the balance of being available (they are a mine of local info!) & allowing privacy for total relaxation. We loved visiting Millie to pick organic veg (some of which was included in our welcome goodies) and we enjoyed long lunches & dinners outside everyday. The local area is beautiful with lots to do but you will want to get back to this special place as soon as you can to squeeze every drop out of your time there! We very much hope to return…..

Having stayed for the first time in 2022, we had no hesitation in booking again for 2023. Franck and Rupert are excellent hosts, and nothing is too much trouble. A wonderful week was spent lying by the pool during the day followed by eating and drinking in the outdoor kitchen in the evenings. The kids loved the pool and all the games, whilst the adults appreciated the variety of places to find some much needed peace and quiet. Both properties have everything you could possibly need to make it a true home-from-home. I have no doubt we will be back again, as long as we can find some availability

Had the most fabulous holiday at Le Mas. Beautiful, comfortable and spacious accommodation, and the most accommodating hosts who are always happy to help with recommendations and arrangements. Highly recommended.

We have been here in May it was fantastic! Super nice and richly equipped house. There was a welcome package with local wines and homemade jams and Gin! How fun! The house has been beautifully renovated. We lived like gods in France for two weeks!

We love staying at Le Mas - it's great for families, with the beautifully-kept surroundings, house, and pool. The owners are terrific, very responsive to any queries ,and always ready with suggestions of where to go and what to do. We look forward to our time there each year!

Le Mas is a gem. The house was somehow more beautiful than the pictures. The owners have thought of everything and were gracious and accommodating. We were a group of artists and found tremendous inspiration in the grounds and local sites. 10s across the board! Would definitely like to return in the future.

We had the most glorious week at Le Mas. The house is gorgeous in a most amazing location. The kitchen was so well equipped it was a pleasure to prepare and enjoy all the delicious food from surrounding markets. Rupert and Franck are generous and kind hosts. Highly recommend for a family or group of friends who want to really relax and enjoy the simple pleasures of the French countryside.

Where to begin? Everything was exceptional. Rupert and Franck have created an amazing property - warm and inviting, spotlessly clean, comfy beds and stocked with everything you need. Beautifully designed from the kitchen, to the bedrooms, and the lovely living area. As hosts, they provided a welcome basket, recommendations for restaurants and sights, and excellent communication. We spent 7 unforgettable days enjoying the view and pool, cooking and eating in the outdoor kitchen, going to markets, taking long leisurely walks and visiting nearby villages and restaurants.

From the moment of our very friendly welcome to our warm departure this holiday was wonderful. Set in a gorgeous area of the Dordogne Le Mas and Le Mazet delivered beyond expectation for all 12 of us! The accommodation is stunning, the setting and gardens glorious and the attention to detail by our lovely hosts is remarkable. We have stayed in gites in France for decades but this surpasses anything else and how! I know that this is a bunch of superlatives but it’s true! Little details…like a heated salt water pool, a lovely pétanque barn, a massive collection of books and games. We'll be back!

We returned in June 2022 and couldn't believe it seemed even better than our previous visits. The beautiful house is full of character and has everything you could wish for. The large outside eating area is perfectly equipped for all day dining and the pool is sublime. The friendly, yet discreet, hosts truly are the best and ensure you are totally spoilt. All this, set amongst stunning scenery, means we'll definitely be coming back soon.

8 of us made the trip and from the moment we arrived we knew we were going to love it. Rupert and Franck were the perfect hosts, the accommodation is fantastic, made so by the attention to detail and small touches which combine to make a truly special whole. The pool and gardens are immaculately kept and there’s plenty of places around the property to sit and take in the scenery or enjoy the peace and quiet. We’ve been visiting France for the best part of 30 years and this is, without doubt, the best gîte we’ve ever stayed in. If you’re thinking of booking Le Mas then just go ahead and do it.

Outstanding experience! We just completed a week-long stay that was the culmination of 2 years of COVID delays and planning. Rupert and Franck have done a truly exceptional job of creating an idyllic retreat, beautifully decorated, very comfortable beds, fires on cool nights, morning pastry deliveries, I could go on! Our party had 6 adults and 3 children and there was plenty for everyone to enjoy. Even in April the pool was wonderful and the kids partook every day. We can’t recommend it highly enough.

Just back from a wonderful week staying at Le Mas. Our second visit to this very special place and the quality of the accommodation is as just as good as when we were last there 5 years ago. A perfect location for a holiday with friends. The heated pool was ideal for making the most of April sunshine. Rupert and Franck made us feel very welcome and our children are already asking when we can go back!

Le Mas is a wonderful destination for a holiday. The house had everything you could possibly need for up 10 people. The pool is wonderful as are the other games available that makes it super easy with children. We hired their chef - who is amazing! Our meals where so good and he catered for children as well as us adults wanting a culinary experience. The local area is full of places to visit, castles, restaurants and some amazing views. We stayed during the October half term holiday and the weather was wonderful making swimming in the pool very enjoyable. You should visit!

What a stay at the Mas and the Mazet !!! An absolutely perfect week: - exceptional setting, the property is surrounded by the countryside ... a beautiful view of the valley, a small church in the distance. As for the garden, it is absolutely beautiful and well maintained. - the Mas and the Mazet, two beautiful buildings renovated with the greatest care, decorated with great taste and very comfortable. - a beautiful swimming pool (with salt water) - a charming and warm welcome, a discreet presence of Rupert & Franck (they live in the tobacco barn nearby)
