The Experience

Light pours in through the glass roof of this distinctly modern converted barn. Children will love the suspended iron footbridge that leads to their bedroom, and the huge lawn big enough for a football game. The private gardens sings with colour all year round.

Liz and husband Corentin have poured their love of good food into this place. Ballymaloe-trained Liz delivers a breakfast basket to your door, there’s is a proper kitchen with room for many hands to help and all the cooking basics. Help yourself to herbs and salads from the kitchen garden, eggs from the hens and charcoal for the barbecue.

The shared terrace beside the glasshouse is the perfect spot for a sundowner while younger children explore the wooden castle and teens escape to the games shed for table tennis. If you can tear yourself away from this little paradise, lovely beaches, charming gardens and the technicolour cliffs of the Côte d’Amour are a 20-minute drive.

Reviews

I fell deeply in love with this stunning property, one of the nicest I have ever inspected in 12 years! Liz and Corentin have done it all with so much taste, grace and good humour. It would be a dream to come with busy little ones as they could enjoy all the common areas and activities on site as much as the large house itself.

Location

The neighbourhood

The old farm building is in a cluster of others at the edge of a quiet Breton village – cornfields, cattle grazing and huge skies. On other side of the village is Char à Bancs, the family’s farm-to-table restaurant. The beaches at Binic are just 15 minutes’ drive, and the Côte d’Amour with its pink and emerald granite cliffs is 40 minutes. Remarkable gardens at Plouëc-du-Trieux are 30 minutes.

Local points of interest from Liz Lamour

  • The charming village of Châtelaudren is just 2 kms away and it is possible to walk there along a country path, with no cars. The market is on a Monday morning, ideal to stock up on lots of fresh fish, vegetables, artisan cider and other local products.
  • It takes just over 10 minutes to drive to the sea and there is a choice of over 20 beaches along the coast near our cottages.
  • A beautiful basecamp from which to explore Brittany. The Côtes d'Armor, a captivating region in Brittany, offers an array of enchanting tourist activities and picturesque destinations.
  • Explore the unspoiled beauty of Île de Bréhat, a floral paradise where car-free lanes beckon visitors to wander amidst blooming gardens.
  • Don't miss the historic Mont Saint-Michel, a UNESCO World Heritage site, rising majestically from the sea.
  • Paimpol, a charming port town, invites you to discover its maritime history and savor fresh seafood.
