The Experience

Wake up to views across the Rance, sailing boats on the water and the port of Plouër-sur-Rance in the distance. Inside the first floor apartment, it’s calm and comfortable with warm Breton touches: family heirlooms and antique furniture, gorgeous wallpaper that hints at the region’s maritime past, and a king-sized bed with lovely linens.

There’s a snug corner with a sofa bed (good for a child under 12), and a table for lazy breakfasts. The kitchenette is well equipped for a short stay and the pay-per-use fridge comes with local cider as well as champagne, kombucha and ginger beer if you fancy something special. The bathroom’s lovely too, with a deep tub and natural toiletries. The vibe is part heritage, part boutique, all quietly charming.

You’re 15 minutes from St Malo and surrounded by riverside walks, water sports, and good places to eat. Guests can book a yoga session, or a massage – just ask in advance.

Reviews

I would love to spend a few days in this little apartment close to such a variety of vistas and activities. I even found a standing stone nearby (the giant's tooth!).

Location

The neighbourhood

Lots to do in the area – rent an electric bike, go paddle boarding or sailing, take a boat out (Guillaume, the owner, can skipper). Pleudihen-sur-Rance (2km) has a bakery, an Italian deli, an organic cheese maker, a greengrocer, grocery store, pharmacy and a cider museum. Across the road from the apartment, Le Cale de Mordeuc is an excellent place to eat.

Introducing

Dorothée & Guillaume De Champeaux

Guillaume and his wife Dorothée have poured heart and soul into restoring this old gabarier’s house, redesigning it from the ground up and creating three unique spaces, which can be rented separately or as one house. She led on the interiors, while he oversaw the build. They’re nearby if you need them and are happy to arrange boat trips, yoga classes and more.
