The Experience
There are rolling lawns and a partly wild wooded parkland so roam wherever you please; you may bump into Suzette and Sarriett, the gentle resident donkeys. Swim in the outdoor pool or find a quiet spot to sit with a book – there’s plenty of space.
Walk three kilometres down the sweeping drive to Lamballe, the closest town, and from here follow the Gouessant river as it meanders through countryside past lakes, chateaux and ancient Menhirs. The lakes Jugon and Arguenon are just the ticket if you’re keen to row, sail or canoe. Take a boat trip along the Nantes-Brest Canal. It’s a ten-minute drive to the popular sandy beach, Val André.
Charming Nathalie looks after you. There are big breakfasts eaten in the salon around one big table or tucked away in the window if you prefer. Local cheeses, yogurts and butter, homemade jam, a delicate gateau, fruit salad… high ceilings, tall windows and polished boards make everything light and airy and each bedroom is beautiful – the suite has a vast bathroom and its own salon.

A really lovely peaceful location in the heart of the countryside. The Manoir itself has a feel of yesteryear about it. There is no need for modern contemporary decor in a building like this, and the owner Nathalie has gone to great pains to furnish with traditional furnishings throughout, so that you could imagine that you were back in the 19th century, but without there being any sacrifices in the interests of comfort. Breakfasts are superb, with plenty of locally produced products. Highly recommended!

Your anticipation mounts as you drive down the tree lined avenue and sweep into the forecourt of Manoir de Villeneuve. You will not be disappointed. Natalie welcomes you warmly into her elegant and romantic manor house. You can step back in time and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of past times but with 21st century comforts! For me, I would find it difficult to choose between the first floor bedroom ‘chambre de mademoiselle’ and the ground floor bedroom suite (not in the main house) called ‘Le Jardin d’Adelaide’. And of course, the family dog is the cherry on the cake!

Thoroughly enjoyed our 8 day stay in this haven of tranquility. Its beautiful, pristine rooms, their decor and furnishings, the exquisite breakfasts and the warm hospitality of Nathalie make this the perfect place to stay when touring the Emerald coast. It is only one hour away from St Malo and in close proximity to other beaches and medieval cities. No shortage of places to explore. Thoroughly recommend. We hope to return. And

We stayed here for a night on our way back to the ferry and had a wonderful experience. Nathalie is a delightful host, we had a warm welcome and were shown to our beautiful room in this fabulous old manor house. We had a very comfortable and peaceful night, but the real tour de force was the breakfast in the morning: a magnificent spread of cereal, bread, cheese, croissants, pain au chocolat, fruit salad, home made jams, local honey, cake and more.......... Whether like us you just have one night, or have longer to stay we would really recommend staying at the Manoir de la Villeneuve!

The beautiful house is a perfect retreat in the countryside. We stayed in the lovely Garden room, an annex to the side of the main house, with direct access to the garden. It was perfectly decorated in dove greys with crisp linen sheets and pretty details.A very elegant design, with wonderful roll top bath. Breakfast was great too. The main drawing room felt grand, with a delicious spread welcoming table. We will certainly stay again.

The Manior is beautifully and carefully restored to its former glory with all the conveniences of a modern world. The real treasure of the house is its host, Nathalie, who is kind, gracious and most welcoming. She oversees this vast property with efficient ease and always has time to suggest what to see and do in the area. Her knowledge of the best places to go is broad and varied and always to perfection. Her expansive breakfasts are a delight with fresh breads, local cheeses and yogurt and her special recipe crepes that require a half portion of corn meal for a taste treat. A Breton best!

Location
The neighbourhood
Lamballe is three kilometres down the road and the nearest town for supplies. It is a thriving place with all the usual shops plus quite a good art scene. Old buildings have been converted into exhibition spaces and craft workshops for potters and sculptors. It's also home to the The Breton Postiers stud farm, founded in 1825 - it's open for visits and stables around 400 stallions.
Local points of interest from Nathalie Peres
- Close to Lamballe, an old town well-known for its National Stud and for the painter Mathurin Meheut, our beautifully looked after maison d’hôtes, located near the sea, is an ideal stopping place to explore the Penthièvre, Emerald and Red Granite coasts.
- Close to nature: discover the Forest of Brocéliande, home to the tales of Merlin the magician, the fairy Viviane and King Arthur. Wander to Jugan les Lacs, classed as a “Petite Cité de caractère”, with its lakes Jugon and Arguenon.
- Take a boat along the Nantes-Brest Canal, and happen upon the Guerlédan lake tucked under the Forest of Quénécan, where you can enjoy a number of sporting activities – or simply go for a wander along one of the many signposted walks.
- Explore the historic towns of Dinan, Saint Malo, Lamballe, Moncontour, Quintin and Pontrieux, and other local treasures such as Château de Bienassis and Château de Fort Lalatte.
- Discover Brittany’s bountiful diversity on foot: embark on some of our favourite hikes or hop on a bike to explore the Emerald and Penthièvre coasts. We can also recommend several horse riding centres and local golf clubs.
- A relaxing stay for everyone: less than 10 minutes from the Manoir de la Villeneuve, you can enjoy long beautiful stretches of white sandy beaches. Stay in and relax by our pool and in our park, or go and visit one of our nearby spas.

Introducing
Nathalie Peres
Nathalie runs her B&B and self-catering gites with charm and grace. She’s a mine of local information and is happy to share it. You’ll also meet her friendly dog who happily roams the grounds.
We spent a very enjoyable week at this beautiful manor house which is ideally located for exploring the nearby coast, towns and villages. It was a pleasure to return here at the end of the day and to sit/picnic in the garden or swim in the pool. We stayed in the garden suite and liked having the extra space to sit and read in the evenings. Nathalie was a great host, friendly and very helpful with advice about the local area. We looked forward to her delicious breakfasts each morning! Can thoroughly recommend Le Manoir de la Villeneuve.
