Au Pré du Moulin

We received a very warm welcome as we travelled south through France. Lovely hosts serving an excellent evening meal. The accommodation was very comfortable and the cleanliness was of the highest possible standard. This B&B is well worth finding if you are anywhere near the area and we would definitely book here again.

An excellent choice if you wish to tour the Champagne region with lots of useful tips provided by Didier and Valerie. A beautiful farmhouse about 40minutes south east of Epernay in the idyllic village of Clamages The farmhouse is spacious and the furnishings are to a very high standard. Valerie performs wonders with the cuisine and provides a traditional French breakfast, in preparation for a day of Champagne tasting. You may well wish to practice your French with your hosts but expect the response in perfect English. Well worth the visit as hotel accommodation is sparse in the region..

Valerie and Didier certainly deserve their reputations as two of France's finest hosts. Their very welcoming nature combined with an encyclopedic knowledge of the champagne area makes their farmhouse an ideal location to tour the area. On our request Valerie sent us to excellent local eateries for our days out and prepared great fresh salads with plates of local cheeses for our light evening meals. She directed us to one of the small champagne producers for tasting and purchasing of some fantastic bottles. Didier was particularly helpful in helping us choose our travel routes.

We stopped over, with dinner, when returning from a ski holiday. The Moulin was clean, very comfortable and warm throughout. Dinner and breakfeast were both excellent and the Coulmiers were extremely hospitable and helpful. Absolutely no reservations in recommending the Moulin to anyone.
