Au Pré du Moulin

Easy 3 hour journey from the tunnel, good stopover for journeys further south, french country chic in the rooms, extremely quiet setting. Delightful host who, given the hot weather, offered a lighter meal at a reduced price, which we accepted, and it was very good. Quiche, salad, bread, delicious regional cheeses, desert made with local plums, and wine. Tea and coffee available anytime in the dining room.

Excellent overnight stay with a delicious table d'hôte. Our hosts were very welcoming and went out of their way to make us comfortable including toys for our little boy.

We stayed with out two children in the family suite with adjoining rooms. We had a fantastic stay, with great rooms, friendly service, and lovely traditional food that the kids also enjoyed. Before dinner we sat in the beautiful garden with a cold beer while the kids played on the trampoline. We will definitely go back. We stayed in several nice chambres d'hotes during our holiday and this was the best.

This charming property is equally good as a base for exploring Champagne as it is as a stopover to/from Calais. We chose it for the latter - it's an easy 3-hour run to the Tunnel. You will be guaranteed a warm welcome from Valérie (we did not meet Didier) - our room was very nice indeed, as was dinner in the company of French and Belgian guests. Valérie is an excellent cook who prepared a delicious 4-course dinner with vegetables and fruits sourced from her own garden. The price was good value - 30 Euros per person, wine included (and plenty of it). Thoroughly well recommended.
