The Experience

Kick off your shoes and unwind in this charming, 200-year-old home, lovingly tended by the family for generations. It’s full of warmth and character, with original features throughout: terracotta tiled floors, ancient doors and beams, antique furniture and hand-painted panelling. There’s a magical sense that time has stood still here.

View-filled bedrooms feel timeless, children’s rooms brim with toys and the light-filled salon is the perfect spot to read and relax. You’ll adore the lush, expansive gardens with pool, orchard, mature trees and a covered courtyard for starlit meals and family games. Off here, the generous kitchen has been stylishly updated. Bright and painted a jolly mustard, it’s packed with modern appliances and all the essentials.

Drive five minutes to the hilltop town of Lectoure. Browse the vibrant Friday market, ride in a hot air balloon, visit the thermal baths, enjoy an evening of music, or canoe on the Gers.

Reviews

This a gorgeous, atmospheric French family home. Ideal for those who appreciate a house with original features, filled with family treasures, books etc. It is like stepping back in time. The garden is magical with the different sitting areas and mature shrubs and trees. Lectoure is close by – it is known as the most cultured town in the area, full of wonderful architecture.

Location

The neighbourhood

Lectoure is a beautiful neo-classical hilltop town with half-timbered houses, an atmospheric 1488 cathedral, a thriving Friday market for your weekly shop and a dedicated antique shopping mall. It has plenty of restaurants and views stretch over the rippling Gers valley. Fleurance is a little further, a little bigger and has a Carrefour.

Local points of interest from Laurent De Saint Blanquat

  • Discover the town of Lectoure, its small museums, its cathedral, its pretty boutiques and its antique dealers.
  • Exit the park of the house, turn right and walk towards Santiago de Compostela, or just go to the next village: Marsolan.
  • On summer evenings, watch the fading sunlight on the garden trees from the orchard or the pool.
