The Experience

An avenue of lime trees leads to this grand half-timbered lodge, converted from the outbuildings of an 18th-century château and set in 60 acres of manicured parkland. The owner’s home sits discreetly 200 yards away; the lodge is entirely yours.

Six double bedrooms, dressed in crisp white linen with generous pillows and duvets, each with its own private bathroom with a bath and shower. The sitting room has deep sofas, a large-screen TV, a vast music centre and shelves of books and DVDs; you will not be bored. Throughout, a serious private collection of paintings, photographs and sculpture is a feast for the eyes.

The kitchen is sleek and impeccably equipped with state-of-the-art appliances. Outside, a beautiful pool and barbecue sit beneath a canopy of white wisteria, alongside a huge pool house with its own kitchen, shower and wraparound seating. The whole property sleeps 12, making it perfect for large families and groups of friends.

Reviews

The most beautiful place and setting that I have ever visited for Sawday's. The collection of art, the accessories (lamps, soft furnishings), and exquisite furniture. Everything is beautiful: house, interiors and garden.
