The Experience

The pale stone buildings form a four-sided courtyard and are surrounded by acres of organic pasture. Colourful seating and a professional kitchen (which you are free to use) are found in the Auberge – help yourselves to hot drinks or something from the honesty bar, relax by the wood-burner, choose a book from the shelves. It’s a lovely big room with original artworks on stone walls and racks of wine.

Bedrooms are dotted about but all have a mix of modern and antique furniture and sparkling en suite bathrooms. Good food is at the heart of this place: breakfast is a feast of locally produced and mostly organic treats including one of Konstantin’s surprise dishes – sometimes eggs Benedict, or tortilla, or a freshly baked cake. Fresh crêpes are served twice a week. Order a seafood platter on Fridays and enjoy a pop-up restaurant twice a month.

Hidden in the meadows are two ponds with shady trees and seating. It’s peaceful here.

Reviews

This is a truly impressive and handsome old farm and a lovely escape into the tranquil Norman countryside. Rooms are huge, very comfortable and filled with interest. The communal barn is a sociable space and what fun it would be to cook a meal in the super professional kitchen. The informal, laid-back atmosphere is just what I want when I'm travelling.

Susan, Winchester

What a wonderful place! Beautiful old buildings, large stylish rooms & a wonderful communal space to meet other guests & enjoy the fabulous breakfasts. We especially enjoyed having use of the superb professional kitchen to cook our own dinner, what a unique experience, and a good selection of wines to choose from the honesty bar to accompany our meal. For three days Susanna made us feel completely at home in this peaceful spot.

We love Les Rochers. Every breakfast is a joy and Susanna is an exceptional host, helping with restaurant reservations and addresses of good brocantes. It is easy to spend a relaxed day on the lawn and feel immediately at home. I highly recommend staying here in this quiet and beautiful place.
